CHAPTER FOUR

Paige walked to her car, a black Lamborghini, one of the many reasons she will never regret taking over her mother's businesses. She placed her back in the passengers sit and made herself comfortable in the driver's seat before speeding off the road. She passed the limit but she knew no police would stop her car to question her behavior. She had a lot on her mind. Why was everyone so against her lifestyle? Why didn't they just try to see life I her point of view? Why were they so judgmental? If only she had a time machine and she would do everything different. She was so lost that she didn't notice the red lights coming up and she went straight into a truck that was from the other lane. Her car did a few flips before landing upside down.

When she woke up, Paige found herself with pipes and a machine attached to her body. She had an oxygen mask on her face and needle everywhere.

"My baby you are awake!"

Paige turned to see her mother walking in.

"Am I dead? I must be in heaven."

She said looking at her mother, father and brother who was being carried by her father on his hands.

"Doctor! She is awake!"

Her father shouted when he saw her awake.

A while later the doctor came in examining her and taking notes before turning to the family.

"She is okay… two broken bones but nothing fatal…she will be fine within no time."

The family nodded except Paige and her brother who wasn't aware what was going on. Paige was trying to understand what was going on in her life.

"What exactly happened?"

She asked as her mother caressed her face.

"Don't you remember?"

Her father asked looking at her. Paige shock her head slowly.

"You were coming back from school when a truck hit your car on the side you were sited. The car did a few flips."

Her father explained. That is exactly what happened but the opposite, she was the one who collided with the truck and not the truck colliding with her. She had to be in a parallel world or she had gone back to the future. Paige looked at her mother who looked healthy as ever.

They sat talking of the law suit that awaited the truck driver who 'wasn't looking where he was going' like what her father would say. She must also a have a law suit in the other parallel world. She though as she watched her mother smile at her and her brother.

"Does Amy and Leon know of my accident?"

She asked after a while of talking.

"Who is Leon?"

She looked at her mother for a while not understanding why she was asking about Leon.

"Mum, I have two friends, Amy and Leon."

She said and her mother looked at her like she was crazy.

"No Paige, you have a few friend but none of them has the name Leon…are you okay or should I call the doctor?"

It was Paige's turn to look at her mother like she had a second head with a horn on top.

"What year is it?"

Her mother looked at her. Her father had gone out of the room for 'fresh air' which Paige knew was a lie but she didn't say any of it to her mother.

"2007, why?"

Paige though. She met Leon 2008 a few months before her mother was admitted in the hospital, in a club. They had immediately clicked and they become friends. He stood by her when her mother got admitted and most of the time got her 'busy' so she wouldn't think about her sick mother. Leon was one of the other reasons she hated men. She nodded before looking at her mother who was looking at her suspiciously.

"Nothing…I just wanted to make sure of something."

She said looking away then back to her mother. Her mother nodded unconvinced but didn't say anything before turning her attention to her small son on the ground.
