Are you serious right now?!

Have any of you ever confessed your feelings to your crush only to get turned down? Well, that's happened to me not once, not twice but three times. In middle school, I confessed to the first boy I ever loved and was horribly rejected. In my freshman year, the same happened and in my final year, the same thing occurred. Is this some sort of curse? Am I being punished for the wrongs I did in my past life? If so then I apologize to whatever higher being is listening! Did I fail to mention that all three of the very same guys I loved and adored are my new stepbrothers?! Yeah, didn't see that coming did you? Well......neither did I.

Don't mess with my best friend!

With all the crazy happening at home, I hardly noticed it was Monday already. Ally, Kat and I stood in front of our lockers having one of our usual conversations.

"So like, I said what he did was very dumb and he disagreed. Can you even believe it?"

Kat complained as she slammed her locker door shut

"Well, to be fair Kat you're literally the only one on this planet who'd think saving someone's life is dumb"

"Since you put it like that.."

"Alright, I am the only one here who thinks you both are pure idiots for having a deep conversation about some guy saving a dog's life!"

I jumped in on the talk. The two girls looked at me with their brows raised and hands folded.

"Excuse me?"

"You wanna say that again?"

They both threatened Alison cracking her fingers.

I gulped loudly slightly nervous. Laughing in an attempt to ease the tension I hopes their glaring eyes would relax but no such luck.

As if they practised it they lunged at me at the same time. Instinctively dodging their attack I ran away from them.

I had absolutely no idea where it was I was running to but as long as it was very far from those girls it was okay with me.

Dodging a few students in the hall I casually passed between them like a ghost. Okay, I actually pushed them out of my way but it's basically the same thing.

Like a stupid girl in a horror film, I looked back to see where my assaulters were. A wrong move on my part for these two reasons.

First, I saw the crazy fire in both of my so-called best friends' eyes and the second being I bumped into something.

But not just anything, a person. But not just any person, a tall, handsome and older version of a middle school Jackson.

What. The. Fuck.

"Woah, that you Addison? Wow, it's been some time since we've spoken huh?"

The sound of his voice felt like warm honey melting in the cracks of my heart sweetening the bitter and black in it.

What? No! Resist Addie, resist!

I opened my mouth to respond probably about to say something stupid, but thankfully Ally and Kat caught up with me.

The psycho sisters jumped on me causing all three of us to fall flat on the floor.

Me on my face.

In front of Jackson.

I'm beyond embarrassed.

Scrambling off the floor with a crazy Alison attached to my leg I limped away or at least tried to.

"Uhm, hey girls"

The two crazies turned to the voice and their eyes widened as they saw the black-haired male.

"He-hey there... Jackson."

"What's up?"

Kat and Alison asked in unison, the wild-haired blonde twirling one of her curly strands on her index finger

"Nothing much. Oh Addie I wanted to ask y-"

Before he could finish asking his question I took advantage of a distracted Kat and lovestruck Alison. Going on all fours in a running pose I sprinted right outta there.

The girls who were still decorating the floor broke out of their stance noticing my sudden disappearance. Springing themselves off the floor they scrambled after me.

Screaming out their goodbyes to a slightly confused Jackson running after me at full speed.

Turning around a sharp corner I bumped into a few students. One collided with the floor while another received a face full of whatever that green slime was.

"Sorry!"

I screamed my apology without stopping in my tracks. Finally making it to my first lesson I sat down on my seat and urged the teacher to come in.

Come on, where's that teacher when you actually need them?

The loud bang of the door against the wall frightened me out of my stupor.

Standing at the door was Alison with a look of anger and next to her was a fairly pissed-off Kat.

The only thing running through my head was the fact that I was screwed.

It felt like a slow-motion picture in a movie with Alison cracking her neck to the side and Kat evilly smirking at me. The two slowly made their way toward me.

Before they could do anything the sound of the bell rang across the school. Like a storm in came a hoard of students and a tired-looking teacher.

My best friends who weren't looking at all friendly clicked their tongues in annoyance and took their seats. Far away from me

Thank you higher being!

"Alright then let's begin. The first world war was-"

Wait, don't tell me this is history class.

No!!!! Curse you higher being!

After forty minutes of torture that felt like forever, the bell finally rang for the second lesson.

Ally and Kat were still running after me even during class changes. And I was still running away from them.

Not paying attention to my surroundings I yet again bumped into someone. Looking up to see who it was I stood there stunned at the boy standing before me. It was Ian.

His lips lifted into a scowl. Glaring at me with a look of distaste I felt small under those eyes.

A sharp bolt of electricity ran down my spine as the boy pushed me aside, scoffing in irritation. It was like my mere existence disgusted him.

Well, I'm sorry for confessing to you! Had I known you'd just react like a jackass I'd have kept my mouth shut!

"Gotcha!"

Kat proudly announced, her hand firmly holding onto my shoulder. I gasped in terror and like any poor prey caught by a predator I begged.

"Please Kat, I'm sorry okay?! I really am sorry! Forgive meeee!"

She stared at me for a while, then broke out into laughter. Finally catching up to us Ally soon joined in.

"Oh my gosh, geez Addie. Relax, we won't do anything."

"Yeah, I don't even remember why we were chasing after you anyway"

Breathing out a sigh of relief I smiled at my catastrophic besties.

"Thanks, guys. Now let's move before Mr Gibson has our heads"

Pulling them along we made our way to the abnormally hairy man's classroom for a long lesson of English. What fun!

Note the sarcasm.

I swear the guy had it out for me for no reason whatsoever! I never have ever said or done anything to him. Okay maybe I'm not totally innocent but still.

Walking into the class the bell rang as I entered after Ally.

"Ah, Ms Miller you are late"

Mr Gibson smirked addressing me. My eyes widened and my mouth hung open.

"Wha- why? I literally just entered the class when the bell rang"

"Yes, after it rang. Meaning you are late."

Scoffing in disbelief crossed my arms annoyed at his behaviour. The nerve of this hairy dude.

"What about Alison and Kat? They entered with me."

If I was going down I was taking my friends with me. Even if they were giving me dirty looks.

"No, you were the last to enter my room. Not them."

Was this guy serious? Are you kidding me?

"So, that means detention for you."

"Wha-"

He gave me a death-defining glare shutting me up in the process. Once again I scoffed. Grumbling under my breath I made my way to my seat.

Kat sat in front of me and Alison on my right.

"Call the guy big foot one time and he holds a grudge."

The two laughed at my dilemma as they recalled the time I accidentally blurted out "Big foot" after Mr Gibson called out for me.

I mean he caught me off guard and it's not my fault he looks so much like the large hairy beast. Put the guy in the woods with nothing but a loincloth and you'd be convinced it's the mythical creature.

Class carried on without anything interesting occurring. Unless you count the many times Alison and I threw spitballs at Kat.

Stifling our laughter at the white balls hanging onto her hair we continued decorating it with the white wet paper balls.

Two lessons later it was finally lunch break. Sitting at our usual table Kat took out a homemade lunch box while Alison on the other hand stood in line for the cafeteria food. Which I will never digest again for reasons that will remain unspoken.

Sitting next to Kat I snatched an egg roll from her resulting in me getting a slap on the back of the head.

"Ow, that hurts you know!"

"Yes, indeed I do."

She smirked taking a large bite out of her sandwich. Where was the kind and loving Kat? I missed her.

"Cafeteria food sucks!"

Exclaimed a rather disgusted Alison who eyed the plate of food in front of her.

I rolled my eyes at the statement.

"If it's so bad why'd you get it?"

"Because Addison,"

She paused taking a bite out of the gooey-looking slob on her plate. What even was that?

"Unlike you, I can actually handle my food"

She smirked.

"I thought we were never going to mention that again!"

The wild girl laughed at my horror-filled expression.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just....man who barfs out that much crap that it even comes out of the nose?! It was hilarious man!"

They laughed making me scowl at them.

"You guys are complete jerks, the epitome of jerks!"

Slamming my head on the table I folded my arms over it hiding my face under them.

"Aww, come on Addie. We're sorry okay? Promise not to speak about this again okay."

Slowly lifting my head from my position, I asked in a small tone.

"You promise?"

Kat gave me her signature comforting smile

"Of course."

Suddenly in a much better mood, I fully emerged from the confines of my arms and conversed with my friends.

"So, what if the sky is actually a blanket and videos of people going to the moon are actually fake?"

I rolled my eyes at Kat and one of her many outrageous assumptions.

"Kat, are you trying to tell me that the moon is actually made of cheese, the world is flat and my pet goldfish didn't commit suicide but died of hunger instead?"

"Yes, well the fish thing is a possibility but other than that yeah!"

"What do you think Alison?"

I turned my attention to my uncharacteristically quiet friend.

"Huh? Y-yeah, I agree"

"What do you mean you agree, you don't even know what we're talking about?!"

Exclaimed Kat with pure frustration at her friend.

Looking in the direction Alison was staring in I saw the guy who had the decency to cheat on my best friend, flirting with the very same whore who he cheated with.

All of a sudden I felt a rush of adrenaline come rushing through. Not really thinking about my actions I got up from my seat and marched to his table.

Slamming a hand onto their table causing the contents on it to jiggle all eyes turned to me.

"Hey there Adam, how are ya?"

He looked at me with confusion with a brow lift.

"Uhm....pretty good. You?"

"Oh I'm great thanks for asking"

I answered sincerely

"Say I have a question for you. Would you rather lose your dick or balls?"

I asked with the sweetest smile not an inch of hostility showing on my face. But trust me it was there.

"Huh?"

"Well, I heard you cheated on my best friend. Which means you just love swinging your play toy all over the place. I thought I would be doing the female population a favour by ridding you of that little trinket. Emphasis on little"

The table "ooed" at my words while Adam looked enraged.

"Hey, you can't talk to him like that!"

The girl who sat on his lap basically screamed out with her annoyingly high-pitched voice.

"Oh shut up Malibu Barbie, you look like a cake decoration with all that make-up on"

Once again the table reacted as the boys sitting there laughed at my comment. The girl had her mouth open in shock.

It made no sense she didn't notice she looked like the worst-dressed clown with all that make-up caked on her face.

Turning my attention back to Adam my smile changed from sweet to cynical. He flinched at the sight.

Where is your tough boy act now huh?

"You have exactly three hours to apologize to my friend with a grand gesture. If you don't"

Grabbing a plastic knife from his plate I stabbed it into the table between his right middle finger and pointer.

"I'm coming for you, got it?"

He nodded his head in understanding slightly shaking in fright.

Dropping the creepy smile and replacing it with a sweet and innocent one I nodded back.

"Good, then see you in three hours!"

I waved goodbye at the table and made my way back to my friends. Taking my seat I received a look from Kat.

"What?"

I asked genuinely confused. She just shook her head.

"I thought I told you not to do anything extreme."

Snatching another egg roll from her lunch box I chewed on the juicy and tender rolled-up egg in delight.

"I didn't though. All I did was strongly suggest he apologizes to our broken-hearted Alison"

I defended. She said nothing more and instead continued eating her meal.

Well, let's see if the idiot can pull off something worthwhile. If not his family jewels are goners!

Yikes! I would be shivering and quaking in my boots if I ever crossed this girl. In any case, if you are enjoying this read then please don't be shy and leave a comment and press that follow button! Oh and if you won't mind please support the author and add this book to your library.
