Are you serious right now?!

Have any of you ever confessed your feelings to your crush only to get turned down? Well, that's happened to me not once, not twice but three times. In middle school, I confessed to the first boy I ever loved and was horribly rejected. In my freshman year, the same happened and in my final year, the same thing occurred. Is this some sort of curse? Am I being punished for the wrongs I did in my past life? If so then I apologize to whatever higher being is listening! Did I fail to mention that all three of the very same guys I loved and adored are my new stepbrothers?! Yeah, didn't see that coming did you? Well......neither did I.

A Friend to comfort

"Break up with your girlfriend, yeah yeah cause I'm bo-o-ored!"

It was early morning on a beautiful Saturday and I was busy singing like no one was listening.

"You can hit it in the morning, yeah yeah like its yo-o-urs!"

Flaying my arms in random motions I swung my hips from left to right. I was dressed in only my plain white T-shirt and black underwear.

If I was getting three brothers, then I had to enjoy my last bit of freedom as much as possible. Who knows how long it will last?

Speaking of brothers it seems like they will be coming to live here with us in about two weeks. Apparently they have a lot of sports activities and such going on at the moment so they can not be too bothered with moving.

However dad and Gloria are moving their stuff here bit by bit, so they won't have to struggle too much with them.

In all honesty, I'm kind of excited about getting siblings. I've always been an only child and since my mom passed before giving birth to another child, I've always felt alone.

Growing up I could not help but be envious of Katty since she has a little sister and older brother. They do tend to often annoy her but I know for a fact she just could not imagine life without the pestering, the fighting and somewhat disgustingness (is that even a word?) that comes with having siblings.

I couldn't wait for that. I have no idea how old the boys are but they can't be that old given that Gloria is a year or two younger than my dad and has three boys. I'm guessing the oldest would be about twelve or thirteen.

"Ray turn that music off and come down for breakfast!"

The loud booming voice of my father called out from downstairs.

When is he going to stop calling me Ray it is not even my name. How does someone get Ray from Addison? It makes zero sense.

"Coming!"

Turning off the mp3 player I put on loose-fitting sweat pants closed my bedroom door and made my way down the stairs. The only thing on my feet were my socks the material made no sound as I stepped on the ceramic floor.

I feel like a freaking ninja!

"Yo, morning dad, morning Gloria, what smells so good?"

"Morning Addison, and that is blueberry pancakes you smell. Davis told me how much you love them."

"Trying to win me over with food?"

I gasped at her hand on my chest and made as if I was offended. She laughed at that as she placed a plate full of four pancakes before me.

"I must say, Gloria, you have won me over as in yesterday."

"I thought she won you over a year ago when she cooked us her famous lasagne?"

My father the elusive Davis said as he made his way into the kitchen. The big oaf gave me a kiss on the head and another to Gloria but on the lips instead.

"Ew, get a room, would you! I think I just lost my appetite."

"Really? Then I'll just finish it for y-"

"No, nope, no way. I said I think, not I'm certain. Besides I'm not gonna let any gross affectionate actions between two middle-aged people make me lose my appetite."

The couple laughed at my comment and I just ignored how they rudely made a mockery of something as serious as my eating.

After breakfast, I thanked Gloria for the food and made my way back upstairs to the bathroom. I really needed to use it.

A while later I received a call from Alison asking me to come over.

"Yeah, I'll be right there let me just finish up here."

"Okay, but hurry!"

She sounded a bit off well more than usual. Finishing off my business I hurriedly put on my shoes. Running down again I called out to my father.

"I'm off to Alison's!"

"Don't come home late okay! And say hi to Eddie and Margarette for me"

"Will do!"

Shutting the door closed I jumped skipping the last two steps. Alison lives a few streets away from my house so it's about a five-minute walk ten if I'm feeling lazy. And today was one of those lazy days of mine.

Ding dong*

Standing in front of the door I stayed put on one spot swinging my left foot waiting for someone to come and let me in. Loud footsteps came rushing to the door and like a cheetah on steroids, a very messy-haired Alison threw the door wide open and immediately started bombarding me with questions

"What took you so long? Were you in an accident? Did you forget your way to my house again? Why are you dressed like a soccer mom and why the hell is there a stain on your shirt? Is that blood? Oh my gosh were you really in an accident? Are you hurt anywhere?"

"I-"

"No time come in!"

The deranged maniac I call a friend took me by the arm and pulled me into the house.

We passed by the family room where I saw Mr and Mrs Murphy lounging comfortably on the loveseat watching some programme about gardening.

"Afternoon Mr and Mrs Murphy, my dad says hi!"

"Oh hello dear, give him our regards!"

Mrs Murphy called out as Alison continued to pull me towards her room. Her grip was fairly tight and she wasn't letting go anytime soon. Yeahp, true to her name, she is a barbarian....wait wasn't she Alison the brave? Meh, I'll change it later.

"Uhm, Ally I can walk and guide myself to your room you know"

"Hush, no time for chitchat"

I rolled my eyes at her and her weird behaviour which frankly wasn't weird at all given her nature and the fact that I was just as, if not worse than her.

Alison so gracefully threw me into her room and shut the door with a loud bang. I rubbed my arm where she once held it and took a look at it. Good thing my skin was dark, or else I think I would see a bruise forming.

I took a quick look at my blonde friend's room, it was still the messy, unclean and disarranged room I knew it to be. Just like the owner.

"Hey Addie"

A voice behind me called out alarming me as I thought it was only the two of us in the room.

I gave a very womanly scream at the unexpected touch on my shoulder and spun around to face my other best friend.

"What the heck Kat? You nearly gave me a heart attack!"

She laughed and apologized to me while I held a hand over my chest beneath it was a rapidly beating heart.

"Sorry, sorry. I forgot how skittish you are"

I rolled my eyes at her then faced my previously dishevelled friend who was now uncharacteristically quiet.

"Ally what's going on with you?"

I questioned the silent girl

She sat down on her bed, took her purple fluffy pillow and covered her face with it letting out a long and tired sigh.

"Okay then, Kat what's going on with her?"

I took a chance with the dark head. She shrugged her shoulders at me and looked at the distraught-looking Alison.

"I'm just as confused as you babe. She called me while I was taking a shower, screaming her head off telling me to get here."

"She said the same to me, except I was taking a dump and she told me to drop whatever I was doing. Funny enough I did drop what I was doing....get it?"

I smirked at her while she just gave me a blank stare.

"Mmphmmph"

"Huh?"

"Mmphmmph"

"Come again?"

I seriously could not decipher pillow talk. What was I, a guru?

"Ally speak English not whatever it is you're speaking. Make, sense!"

She huffed at us picked her head up from the pillow and like fireworks, tears began rolling down in streaks from her eyes.

"My-my boyfriend Adam ch-cheated on me!"

She managed to get through crying harder as her words caught in her throat. Kat being the more affectionate and caring type crawled onto the bed with Ally and hugged her to death.

She cooed sweet nothings to her while I stood in the middle of the room, plotting ways to kill her now ex.

"Addie, I know what you're thinking and don't do it."

"Why I have no idea what it is you speak of"

Kat gave me an 'I don't trust you' look while she continued rubbing the still crying Ally's back.

"Come on Kat! He cheated on her. Practically broke her trust in men for who knows how long!"

"Addison, no"

"Can I at least cut off some sort of limb? Or maybe post embarrassing pictures of him on the school news feed?"

"Addie"

"Fine fine, I won't do anything geez. You're such a buzz kill."

Getting on the bed with them I gave Ally the biggest hug I'd ever given anyone

"It's okay Ally-wally. We'll get through this together okay."

She sniffled and nodded at my statement. Her cries had somewhat calmed down to small whimpers.

"Wanna go egg his house later?"

She gave another nod a small smile on her lips. Kat just gave me a 'seriously?' look but I just ignored it.

"Okay, we'll go egg his house later then. Anything to make you feel better."

There was no way I was letting go of this. How dare he harm one of my best friends. He deserves the highest form of punishment. And egging his house wouldn't be enough!

Adam Young, watch your back cause I'm coming for your!
