A Sudden Misfortune #1/3

As Clora opened Lia's clothing, she found abnormal looking, blackish purple scab-like patches all over her body, they glowed purple at some spots. She could do nothing but stare at them for a while, flabbergasted. Then she tried touching them, Lia quickly started crying very loudly. She was still shivering and all heated up as she had fever and cold. Hearing this, Rin came to check in concern. Clora said everything to him.

He was very shocked to see such sight, he felt very pity. He took Lia in his hands and started rocking her slowly. He looked dismally at her and demanded once again "Hey..... Can't we just keep her with us? Like, weren't you asking the reason why her family left her, it could be because of this..... They might be done taking care of her..... So they left her to us. Because they can't look after her any more."

Clora nodded, she finally started thinking he was right. Nobody is gonna leave their children like this only to get them back again so it was no use even if cops find her family. As she was looking at Lia still crying loudly but it wasn't her fault either, poor thing was in agony and could do nothing but cry it out loud. Lia had not even opened her eyes yet, she was weary and in pain.

Both felt very pity on her, Clora wiped her body with a clean cloth using lukewarm water. And wrapped her in a clean towel, Lia had fever and cold. She needed a doctor as soon as possible but it very late in the night. Clora tried to feed her but as soon as she fed her she kept spitting milk and vomiting it out after a while. Clora and Rin both couldn't understand why, Lia is already very weak and sensitive infant but if she kept vomiting like this her body will start to grow weaker and worse.

Both couldn't sleep well as Lia kept crying.

Now, the night had passed and it was aurora. Clora woke up in concern to check Lia, she was relieved to find her finally sleeping comfortably and quietly. Clora was however still concerned, the patches on her body looked quite severe and painful. She was shocked to find out she was only a week old. But she didn't mind raising her. She also knew it was not gonna be an easy job but she wasn't gonna back off from this either.

Clora found it completely life changing as a young newly wed couple suddenly raising a child. She couldn't believe it but she was happy. She kept staring her while she was asleep, she found her and Rin very cute when they're asleep rather than wide awake.

She prayed for her to get well soon. Clora kisses Lia on forehead. She then goes to Rin who was still asleep, he was drooling and snoring loudly. She kisses him on his forehead too, as she does this. Rin starts talking gibberish in his dreams. Clora couldn't help but chuckle, she wondered what is he speaking in his dreams.
