Battle Aftermath

Heat watched as Ursus transformed into a bear and transported away while Aquila just transported. He walked across the forest floor, with the post battle confrontation bothering him more than the battle itself.

"Oh crap. The test!"

Heat ran as fast as he could, unable to transport. As he ran, he started to feel himself being dragged along the forest floor and in no time, he was in front of the school with Supido standing beside him.

"You know we have a test, don't you?" Supido asked as he walked into the school building.

"That is no reason for you to drag me across a forest!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you ever just say 'thanks'?" Supido moved ahead of Heat. "Oh, by the way, if you love yourself, don't let Mr. Walter see you enter his class." With that, he transported into the class.

Heat walked into the classroom and Mr. Walter, the teacher, called him. "Mr. Fury, where have you been this entire time?"

Without hesitation, Heat lied. "I was in the hospital."

"What for?"

"My doctor just wanted to find out if I was okay because I was rushed to the hospital a day after I returned from there."

"And he found no better time than school hours?"

"No, he did not. Because I passed out again."

"You passed out?"

"Yes. Supido can attest to that."

Mr. Walter turned to Supido, "How true is this?"

"True. I had to carry him to the hospital because the school nurse was not around."

Mr. Walter turned back to Heat. "Supido is not one for lies and so I'll accept your excuse today. Pick out a sheet and start the test."

"Thank you." Heat sat on his chair.

As he walked past Zainab, she whispered, "Did you guys practice?"

Because he sometimes had to work at odd hours to get money to take care of his siblings, Heat had developed a reputation for lying to teachers in an attempt to explain his absence from class.

-Next time I'm not telling a lie for your sake. You're lucky the nurse is not in school today-

Heat smiled at Supido when he heard these words transmitted through the ground at him.

He pulled out a pen from his bag and started answering the test questions.

After about half an hour, Mr. Walter stood up.

"You have ten seconds to stop work."

Heat was the first to get up and submit his paper. Others began to turn in their papers when he started counting down.

"Five, four…"

Heat looked at Supido and saw him writing on his paper. He grinned and sat back down.

"…Three, two, one."

A sudden breeze marked the end of Mr. Walters' countdown.

"After about twenty minutes, you should have all received your papers back."

Heat laid his head on his table and shut his eyes.

"Heat Fury. Mr. Fury!"

Heat woke up at the sound of Mr. Walter's voice.

"I believe you know your name."

Heat rubbed his eyes as he went for his paper.

"I would love to believe you were not sleeping, or else I will be left wondering how you managed an A-, the highest score by far, with such an unproductive attitude."

Heat took the paper and as he was walking to his seat, he heard Mr. Walter call out Supido.

"Mr. Lupus, with an A+, scored the highest."

A jealous Heat watched as Supido passed by him for his paper.

"BRNGGG" The school bell rang loudly.

As students were heading out of the class, Supido called out to Heat. "Hey Heat."

"What is it?"

"You gotta head over to Ur-tir'ak to have your healing process completed. Also, Shishio wants to see you, probably a mission report."

"No, thanks. I'm going to have to pass on all."

"Sorry, it's not optional. See you there."

"I don't think you do Supido, but I have two little siblings to take care of."

"Okay, see you in an hour then."

"Sorry, but I have to stay home with them."

"Heat, can't you tell?"

"What?"

"I don't care what you say or do. Shishio does though. See ya later."

Heat watched as Supido transported away. None of the other students saw a thing. The only people who could see supernatural beings transport were supernatural beings.
