Heat V Deucalion II

"We need to get him out of here now," Aquila said.

"Man, looks like ya suffered too much," Ursus said as he held Heat up.

Heat frowned at them.

"You better realize what the real problem is over here," he said.

"What? We got rid of the amaroq," Ursus replied boastfully.

"No, you think that you got rid of him."

Deucalion got up slowly, looking fixed from the damage inflicted. He growled at the trio.

"Man, that's one nasty creature."

"Focus, Ursus."

"Yes ma'am."

Aquila took Heat from Ursus and allowed him to sit on the floor.

"Take care of him. I'll start the healing procedure for Heat."

She placed her palms on Heat's wounded areas and they lit up with rainbow colored spa.

A wry smile drew on Ursus' face as he towards Deucalion. He transformed just his arms into bear arms, a technique called leaking, where amen transform only part of their bodies. Ursus rammed Deucalion into the cabin wall, smashing it. They entered a battle of strength, which Ursus was winning. However, he could not put his opponent down for good. Deucalion begun to move much faster than before, transporting back and forth, giving Ursus a harder time at reading his movements.

"Go and help Ursus," Heat told Aquila.

"What?" Aquila chuckled. "Trust me, he can handle himself."

"He isn't fast enough to keep up with the amaroq but your feathers are."

"But you are only halfway healed."

"Don't worry, just go."

Aquila walked towards Ursus, who seemed to be very exhausted. Worried, she turned and looked at Heat.

"Don't do anything stupid," she said.

"Sorry, I intend to."

Aquila's back flinched as giant white wings sprouted and opened wide.

"Left of Ursus!" Heat shouted.

Aquila threw dozens of hard, strong, sharp feathers in that direction. The feathers hit Deucalion, who was just about to punch Ursus. Blood gushed out of the unexpecting creature's body. Ursus looked at Aquila with a smile of approval but Deucalion suddenly appeared above the two of them. They both dodged his attack. Deucalion then started to move very fast around them in circles. This was to no avail. They could clearly see his movements, leading them to wonder what his plan was. Aquila and Ursus stood back to back; Ursus bent over and covered his head. Out of Aquila's wings, several feathers were fired in all directions, like a machine gun set loose. When she stopped, Deucalion was against a wall, bruised all over. The two amen fist bumped.

"Bam!"

To their surprise, Deucalion slowly peeled himself off the wall.

"Seriously?"

Ursus walked to his recovering opponent and punched him into the ground so hard that he dented it. Deucalion transformed back to his human form, motionless in the small crater.

After struggling back to his feet, Heat turned his back and walked towards the exit.

"Where are you going?" Aquila asked.

"Back to school of course."

"Ya gotta take this dude with ya, he was ya mission," Ursus said.

Aquila walked away from them.

"You guys finished my first mission for me so, oh no wait, my first s-o-l-o mission," Heat said.

"Dude it was our lunch break, so we thought you could use a helping hand because we have a test in a few minutes! Ya acting like ya had some kind of big plan when we came in and found you bloodied up on the floor!"

Heat turned and looked at him sternly. He paused for a brief moment, questioning why he was not showing gratitude to those who just saved his life. However, that lasted barely a moment; he found himself bothered by their interference.

"Tell me something; who came to rescue you on your first solo mission?"

"No one."

"Exactly! Because it was solo!"

"Heat, I had my first solo mission after about four months! I was way more experienced by then!"

"So what? I can't-"

"Shut up, both of you. I got into contact with Ur-tir'ak, a mop-up crew will be here any moment now." She turned to Heat. "I have to finish your healing process."

"Keep your fingers to yourself, Aquila," Heat said.

She walked up to him. "Don't try to piss me off on purpose again, you wouldn't like it."

Aquila walked away from the cabin, trying to forget what Heat had just said. She couldn't believe it. After coming all the way to help him, this was his thank you. She tried to attribute his attitude to his near-death experience, but it just wasn't working.

Five amen suddenly jumped out of the trees.

"Aquila Ferri Alis?"

"Yes. The site is that way."

Aquila pointed at what was left of the cabin where they fought.

"Thank you."

Heat walked to meet the approaching amen, expecting to be healed. The five amen just walked past him.

"Umm…I haven't fully recovered from my wounds."

"I see that, but once a member of the First Division is here, we are not allowed to do anything," one of the amen said.

Heat was confused.

"That's Aquila's division, Sherlock," Ursus said. "The amen who can heal others."

"Well, crap."

"Ya know, for someone who has a humble life, ya sure lack appreciation and respect," Ursus said as he walked past Heat.

There was a sudden cool breeze, causing the leaves of surrounding trees to rattle. Ursus sensed something move along with the breeze. He looked at the tree beside him and saw a large snake on a branch. It looked back at him and hissed.

"Why don't you teach me your version of respect?" Heat asked.

Ursus lowered his head and grinned. He begun to chuckle as he lifted it back up. There was a sudden loud thumping on the forest floor and sounds of branches breaking; something was coming their way—fast. Heat's eyes froze upon the sight of a huge bear standing behind him on two feet. There was a moment of silence, interrupted by dozens of eagles swopping down. Some carried the snake away while the others drove the bear away. One eagle remained, circling the two amen, before flying to rest on Aquila's shoulder.

"Forget him, Ursus. We have a test to write."
