Chapter 30: Snape.
It was time. Today I was finally try to be friends with Sirius, James and Peter once more yet I was still scared. What a Gryffindor I was. Why the sorting hat put me in Gryffindor I did not know but why not Hufflepuff with my relative or whatever the hat was on about? I really wished I knew who they were. No information had been uncovered unfortunately but hopefully some would be soon. I hated being in the dark and alone which was exactly what I was. In the dark and alone.
It was just after midday on a Sunday when I finally had to time to find my friends after completing Herbology homework (which only a took a couple of hours to be honest). If I wanted to become friends again anytime soon, I would have to make time to complete my mission. My first plan was to find them but the question is where do I start? Maybe I should try the Entrance Hall first and the Great Hall too. They definitely wouldn't be in the library that's for sure but Remus and Naomi could be in there so if I really couldn't find James, Sirius and Peter I could go to them. I could try asking McGonagall if necessary too because knowing them, they're in some kind of detention, It's just in their nature.
Walking down the steps of the marble staircase, I thought about how much has changed this year. I got new friends, learned a few new spells and potions and just overall changed as a person. Since Remus and I first came to Hogwarts, my whole life had changed entirely and I don't know if it was for the better or not. I had a lot of unanswered questions which could probably ruin me but at the same time we had amazing friends who were so supportive. Too bad I had to be stupid and push them away.
"Look at weak, little Snivelus" James' voice echoed as he teased someone. A crowd had formed in the entrance hall with no spaced inbetween each person so I couldn't see what was going on. I quickly push through the crowd of students until I reached the statue of Merlin which had six students in front of. Peter, Remus and Naomi all stood to the side just watching the scene unfold between Severus, Sirius and James. The two Gryffindor boys held their wands at the Slytherin, glee in their face.
"Come on Snivelus, to scared to fight back?" Sirius teased, hitting the boy with another spell. No one in the crowd done anything but watch with either sadness or happiness in their eyes. James and Sirius laughed at Snape with no remorse and just saw the boy as a toy. They didn't even bother hiding the fact as they picked on him in front of the crowd.
Sirius' wand rose for another spell but didn't manage to harm the boy because of me. I quickly stepped in just in time to deflect the charm so it missed its target. "Sirius stop this. He has done nothing to you-"
"But he's a snake Meadow! They're bad people" he argued, glaring at Severus. I glare back at him and Jame hoping that they would break and end this stupid quarrel. Hesitantly James lowered his wand but Sirius was to stubborn to. Of course he was.
"Sirius please" I whispered, locking eyes with the boy. "For me" I added, not breaking our gaze. His face softens quickly as he realized how much pain I was in to see him like this so he lowered his wand without an issue.
"Fine, only for you" he smiled, putting away his wand. "Consider yourself lucky Snape" he glared before walking off with James, Remus, Peter and Naomi. Sighing to myself, I turn to face Snape who was already being cared for by Lily whilst Marlene and Alice just watched from a distance. I knew that neither of them particularly liked Snape because of just who he was but I found that they learned to tolerate him for Lily's sake. I loved how they would do anything for Lily (except studying, Marlene always through a tantrum) and that's why I loved them as my friends. If everything goes wrong between the boys, I knew I would still have them which comforted me.
Knowing Severus would be in safe hands, I leave the scene with the already leaving sea of students. My destination was Gryffindor Tower where I hoped that the others would be after they left the area mere minutes beforehand. Although we did just have a small but quickly resolved problem over Snape, I still wanted to be their friends. Nothing would change that, absolutely nothing.
Climbing the stairs of Gryffindor Tower, I headed towards their dorm room containing many memories already. We still had just less than six years in that room yet it seemed like there couldn't be anymore memories made in their. It was weird how much of an impact one room could have on ones life and in such little time. Such little time indeed.
Halting for a moment, I sigh to myself before knocking on the door that my friends were behind (hopefully anyway). When the door opened, I was greeted with Peter who just gave me a shy smile before letting me in with no words said between us. On each of the four-posters one of the boys were sat - with Naomi on the same bed as my brother - and they all perked up at my sighting.
"What's up sis?" Remus asked, sitting up."
"I wanted to talk to you, all of you" I answer with a gulp. I didn't know why I was so nervous, they would take me back in, right?
"Okay go ahead" James nodded.
"Well I realized how stupid I was to be ignoring you all. I just want to be friends again. Can we?"
Sorry for the shorter chapter, but when I was writing this I was still in school but I'm out now so I should have time to (hopefully) upload more and write longer and better chapters.
