A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

Infinite Dragon God

England,

Norfolk,

Samuel POV,

"Woah."

Samuel's eyes widened in awe and surprise, his gaze wandering around the massive architectural marvel before him. A cathedral of epic proportions, surrounded by tall stone walls with crosses built into them at short intervals, the building itself seemed to have multiple structural sections and even from far off, the manned walls and towers made it more than apparent just what faction commanded it.

People that appeared to be dressed in a mixture of mediaeval light armour and priest robes manned the walls while smaller groups patrolled the area as well. Samuel standing there could feel the threat they posed, it was more than apparent that all of these individuals were skilled combatants that did pretty much nothing to hide their powerful auras.

As was to be expected of one of the major factions in this world.

"Hm." A smug aura hung about the priest accompanying him, Elia was rather pleased with his awe. It was to be expected though, any who beheld the might and glory of God would react the exact same.... according to Elia at least.

"Well it's not like you built it though."

"You-"

"Did you?"

".....No."

Samuel smiled down at her, compared to himself she was rather short.... but then again, nearly everyone was shorter than him. That and teasing the fiery priest was a rather amusing activity, especially considering how she wanted to slug him for it but refrained from doing so.

'Do you feel that?'

Samuel nodded discreetly, his gaze turning a bit sharper as he noted everything he could about the camp... A possible enemy camp. There were powerful auras all around the place but, there were also some that stood out like a sore thumb, they didn't blend in at all.

'Considering the self righteous and 'holiness' of it, I'd say those are angels. They may know about what you want.'

Samuel nodded again, agreeing with the witch. He would never use magic to fight unless there was no other choice but that in no way referred to him not using it at all, he couldn't deny it's usefulness when it came to menial tasks after all.

"Well come on, I'm sure with your power, we can easily get you as a conscript." Elia pushed him from behind, her attitude had taken quite the turn once she learnt his aspirations.

Once they neared the gates however, a loud voice stopped them short.

"Halt! Identify yourselves!"

From the slight urgency in the voice, Samuel could surmise that something was abnormal... Still, he didn't know enough to make any conclusions yet.

Elia walked up and held out her rosemary, one she'd been wearing around her neck from the beginning and said nothing, only staring up at one of the guards with a stern expression on her face.

Not a few moments passed before the massive wooden gates shifted, opening with a loud noise, numerous men walked out, weapons either in their hands or on their waists.

"Heathen, keep your head down. Some of these lot are actual cunts." Elia discreetly gestured to her silver haired companion who nodded shortly before doing the complete opposite and walking forward with his hands outstretched.

"Greetings."

"Heathen."

"Motherfuckers."

"..."

Samuel went silent, weren't they a little too serious? And wasn't Elia a little too snarky towards her own companions? How come he got called a heathen though? What did he even do to warrant that?

Suddenly however, a distinct noise made his head shoot towards the top of the wall. It was a sound that was impossible to hear in this day and age, the sound of a rifle being cocked. Samuel's eyes widened in astute surprise before his smile widened, appearing greatly pleased.

There it was, his ticket to completing a mission with great ease.

Held by a thin framed man with long black hair tied to the back was a rifle, a weapon that by all means shouldn't have existed in such times and yet it did. The power it exuded was unnatural, the laser-like ball visible inside it's barrel made it rather easy to recognise what it was as well.

'You've got luck... Well that and, this appears to be a rather important bastion, there's multiple sacred gears here. Multiple... powerful, sacred gears.'

"I hope he doe-"

Samuel's voice was cut off by an erratic buzz in the air, something like a radio static emanating from near him.

"I... found you..."

"....Excuse me?" Samuel turned around with a questioning gaze, the voice sounded like that of a child's and a sudden chill had taken over the scene. The priests were frozen in their spots, cold sweat forming on their skin and Elia too was unable to move.

It wasn't that time had frozen or something, the rustling of tree leaves made that more than apparent. No, they weren't moving out of fear of something.

"....."

'...Bet you two hours this has something to do with the Jade Emperor.' Echidna quickly capitalised on the situation.

"Well... hello." Samuel awkwardly waved at the newly arrived person... or entity one could say as it was no person. He would be a fool to not recognise her, the many people there seemed to after all. Inwardly questioning God what the hell she was doing there and what she wanted with the silver haired teenager... If surrounding him was somehow an insult to her... then, they were completely fucked.

"Um.." 'She' nodded at him, coming closer with slow, small steps.... Very menacing steps.

Samuel wondered what she wanted, it would be hard to not recognise her. Long pitch black hair, short stature, pointed ears and most of all, the gothic style of dressing. While she'd appeared in numerous other forms throughout the ages, this was the one that stood out the most.

Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God.

"What might you want with me?" Samuel asked with a small casual smile, his actions greatly distressing the other individuals present there. His lack of respect might have gotten them killed....

"Old man... said an interesting person." The girl stared into his blue eyes, her own akin to two pitch black pits that seemed to drain out the light hitting them.

'Two hours in the library.'

"No beard, balding, long earlobes?" Samuel motioned to his ears with a hand before imitating the Jade Emperor's hunched way of walking, "Walks like this?"

"..." The Dragon God nodded at his words, that was the old man she'd chanced upon when he had destroyed two different forces in a matter of moments. Though, Ophis could somewhat understand why he called him interesting. That old man was powerful, so was she... This attitude from something considerably weaker... was interesting.

After all, the reactions of those around them were more what she was used to.

Fearful, afraid, unmoving, respectful, careful, someone being so casual despite a clear and abysmal difference in power intrigued the Dragon God.

"So what do you want?" Samuel asked, smiling pensively, knowing her personality beforehand made it easy to interact. She was originally supposed to be completely apathetic...but, time spent in the human world changed that to a curious and naive personality instead.

In response, the Dragon God went deep into thought, completely silent, what was she doing here? Well, other than observing something intriguing?

And then, a long sixty seconds later, she seemed to have an epiphany and moved closer to him. Tugging at his shirt, the Infinite Dragon God simply stood there. Not saying anything for another long while before finally, "Come with... for now."

"Go ahead." Samuel just smiled, he'd always liked children.

Elia's lips twitched at the interaction, she knew he was careless but.. What the fuck? Did he want to die or something?
