A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

Samuel POV,

Ignoring the literal Dragon God tugging at his shirt, Samuel looked towards the rifleman on the wall, a thoughtful and contemplative gaze. To be honest, he'd developed something of a friendship with the strange blonde exorcist but it was also to be noted that they'd only known each other for a few days.

With Ophis here, he could get away with murdering the man taking his sacred gear, that was if the Dragon God's reputation was anywhere near what it was made out to be in the books. At the same time, that would completely ruin his relationship with the girl. He'd be betraying her as well and she'd definitely be hurt.

'Well.... When I said DxD people displayed a crippling lack of intelligence, I wasn't quite joking. Devil Magic coupled with my understanding of souls... I think I can seize it if you make contact.' The Witch of Greed proposed another solution to the problem, a questionable one but certainly one less taxing on her contractor's conscience.

The magic was quite literally based on imagination, an understanding such as hers made it far more versatile than any could comprehend.

"....."

'Before you reject magic, remember that you dislike using magic to fight. It has many other uses beyond that... And helping you like this was part of our deal.' Echidna explained with a small sigh, it was like he had tunnel vision or something. Which sane person would reject an arsenal of spells to focus on martial arts? ..... She liked that though.

Samuel looked as if he had an epiphany, his eyes widening ever so slightly, in his own craze, he'd missed something so simple..... "I'm retarded." He sighed, shaking his head in disappointment but then chuckled again, "Can you do me a favour and teleport us next to that guy there?" This question was directed towards the Infinity Dragon God.

Ophis looked at him for a few moments, as if processing his request before she nodded and they appeared near the rifleman.

"Wha-...?!" Elia was left speechless by the ordeal, this weirdo was taking being weird to new levels. Did he really tell Ophis, THE Ophis to do something? And she actually did it? The exorcist found herself questioning all she knew about the silver haired teenager all over again.

Samuel placed a hand over the shoulder of the person of intrigue, the priest with a gun, and waved his hand with a harmless close eyed smile, "How goes your day? And how's little Timmy?"

The priest stared at him in a moment of confusion before an intense pain overtook his body, his world turned black, and he fell to the ground limp.

"Hmm...." Ophis looked down at the body, tilting her head in mild curiosity, was he daring? Doing something to one of the church people at a literal bastion of theirs. She stared up at Samuel, what would he do now then? Was she expected to help? Would she help?

"Oh....." Samuel's smile froze, ".....Is he dead?" The question was more of a whisper, a nod of affirmation from the dragon by his side answered it regardless.

"Well... shit!" Grabbing Ophis, he pulled on her and ducked under the wall just as a beam of pure holy power blasted apart the section. When it cleared, said part of the wall had been completely disintegrated.

"It was an accident!" Samuel shouted in vain, kicking at the ground, narrowly avoiding another array of spells.

The priests and exorcists forgot their fear, going into a frenzy over their comrade. He'd waltzed into their home and killed one of theirs! What kind of brothers would they be if they let such a thing go? The silver haired heretic would pay for his sins.

".....?" Ophis, who had let herself be pulled along by the teenager, tilted her head in confusion, clearly unable to understand what he was doing.

Somewhere during the blasts ensuing around him, the distinct ding of a completed mission entered his ear meaning that it had worked.

'It worked..' Echidna was positively jovial about the ordeal, ignoring the fact that the spell needed work and isolating part of the test subject's had resulted in the rest collapsing. The ding of Samuel's phone affirmed that the transplant had in fact worked, her contractor had acquired a new weapon! And her spell worked too! It was nice to see that the Devil Magic system was just as she'd surmised.. Easy to use..... This just made the Witch look down on DxD even more though..

Now, one might be curious as to just what he'd stolen from the priest and possibly wrecked his relationship with Elia for.

"Calm down! The lot of you! Least bloody hear the man out!" The exorcist's high pitched voice now appeared domineering and insanely loud, the spells being thrown his way were slowly getting lower in quantity.

Now, putting his situation aside for a moment, just what had he done? Just what had he stolen?

[Longinus Class Sacred Gear has been acquired.]

That was the notification on his phone.

Samuel had, acquired the Sacred Gear "Star-Crushing Sword Star-Piercing Gun", a gear that was in this day and age, not recognised as a Longinus Class Sacred gear. No, it was one of the sacred gears recognised as such when it's user levelled several islands with a shot in the 21st Century.

As such, acquiring it had been a far easier ordeal as compared to the ones originally recognised as Longinus.

Samuel held out his hand, envisioning something he thought supremely powerful and sure enough, a weapon materialised in his hands. A relatively thin yet long ornate golden longsword, with a simple thought, the sword changed into a similarly themed rifle before disappearing into thin air with a mental command.

And since he'd been hiding behind the wall, no one other than Ophis saw it happen and the dragon god wasn't the slightest bit interested in sharing the information.

"Heathen! What's the meaning of this?!"

Elia demanded an answer from below, staring up at the section Samuel was hiding behind. He was a decent person so far, and relatively harmless, he'd also helped any and all strangers they came across on the way here.

"I was just trying something. I swear it was an accident." Samuel inwardly cursed Echidna for not telling him beforehand but also knew that it was somewhat his own fault.

'It was a test spell. My apologies.' Echidna humbly apologised, understanding that she'd made things go awry for Samuel.... Well, it would be a lie if she said this course of events was far more amusing.

But then, just as it looked that the situation was taking a turn for the better.

It leapt back into a puddle of shit when an individual in priestly robes arrived, he floated in the air, 8 massive white wings on his back, long brown hair and a peaceful look on his face.

The priests dropped whatever they were doing and kneeled in respect to him.

The Angel, calmly observing the situation, noticed Ophis and Samuel as well as a corpse...

...Though, he took the smarter choice, "We will overlook this transgression but, leave at once." By now, many more men had run into the compound, all fully armed and ready for combat, thinking they'd been attacked. There was no way the Angel was about to antagonise a Dragon God, one of the strongest beings on the planet, over one dead human.

Samuel, who had received a notification on his phone now looked up at the angel calmly... A little too calmly, his smile wasn't there, a monotone expression had taken it's place.

'Oh my...'

Immense bloodlust leaked out of the teenager, followed by a dark and murky miasma that come off in waves. He slightly tilted his head,

"Laevatein."
