Part 2

"Is everything okay? You're

always like this." Debbie, a stripper asked as she sat beside Adebayo and

leaned on him. The lights, loud music

and smoke surrounded him.

"I'm fine." he lied, drinking in

Debbie's scent. He took a sip of his

Brandy when his phone rang. "Hello,

Shade." he said.

Her voice was low and hot. "The

Williams family is here for the

meeting. Where are you?"

"So?" he asked.

"I thought you've thought about

this," Shade hissed. "What's wrong

with you?"

Adebayo switched off his phone.

"Darling,

everything okay"

Debbie asked out of concern.

"Yes, dear. Shall we go now?" he

said and held her hand.

"You know I will have to be on

stage before coming with you. Which

room is it? I will join you soon."

"Room 103, I will be expecting

you," he said and left for the room.

"What did he say?" Lucas asked

the maid, his face knotted with worry

and fear.

"He aborted the calI." Shade said.

"Then call him again." Lucas said.

"His phone is switched off," Shade

said, and Lucas sat on the dining

chair, placing his elbows on the table

with his head held by his hands.

"Lord! What on earth will l say tell

these important visitors?" he thought

to himself.

°°°°°°°

"I'm sorry I kept you waiting."

Debbie said as she jumped onto the

bed. Adebayo held onto her, and they

got carried away by the kisses and

pulled at each other's body.

Adebayo had already taken the risk

of not attending the meeting set up by

his father. He got home and tiptoed

to his doorstep hoping that his father

had left for work. Just when he

placed his hand on the door's handle,

he heard a sudden voice and froze.

"You're a bastard!" Lucas shouted,

pointing his finger at him and moving

towards him. "I'm sure your mother

cries every day in her grave.," He

paused, shaking his head. "I curse the

day you came to this life. You've

never made me happy for a single

day." He left.

Adebayo went down straight and

leaned his back on the wall.

But Lucas went on with the plan of

getting his son married to the

Williams heiress and made him go to every blind date set up by Mr.

Williams.

"Dad, how long will I keep doing

this?" Adebayo asked one day.

"When you go on this blind date

often. you may have feelings for her.

who knows." Lucas said.

'Anyway, I'm off." he said, leaving

the house. On his way. he got a call

from Debbie. who told him she

wanted to meet up with him as she

had something important to discuss.

He immediately cancelled the blind

date and went to see Debbie.

"What do you say happened" he

asked.

"I said I'm carrying your child. I'm

sure you heard me clearly." Debbie

said.

"But it has been a while since we met. How come?"

"The last time. of course," she

paused as she held her head in her

hands and raised up again. "The last

time we met. What are we going to

do" she asked.

"But why are you just telling me

this now?" Adebayo asked.

"Because I wasn't sure until I

fainted yesterday. and I was rushed to

the hospital." she said. "The manager

had been angry: none of my friends

were even hearing me out."

"it is well." he sighed. "I will call

you and let you know how things

go," Adebayo said and left.
