The Target: Edward!

The hospital was silent but a bloodbath was sure to follow the moment a man with muddied shoes made his way into the hospital.

It was Jay, the receptionist tried to ask him who he was coming to visit at such a time but Jay didn't bother with a response because he knew no one could stop him if it came to it, these were normal humans.

But Jay knew there were cameras here and needed to move accordingly or he might be exposed.

Jay had to put on his social mask and be on his best behaviour, he approached the receptionist after zoning out for a second.

"Hey sexy, mind tellin' me where the fuck I can find dis fella?" Jay couldn't help but swear, he saw it as nothing and the lady behind the counter didn't seem to have a problem with the way he spoke.

They have had multiple thugs come through to get their men stitched up and their discretion was one of the hospital's strong points as they were inclined to report it to the police but they looked the other way.

"And who is he to you if I may ask?" The pale-skinned lady asked.

"Dude be my fuckin' homie," Jay responded but his eyes were wandering, stealing a glance at the woman's chest. She was on the big side but that was exactly how Jay liked his women.

"I would not mind a snack before seein' his ass" Jay was suggestive as he eyes her up and down.

The receptionist looked to be in her mid-late thirties, she didn't have a ring on her finger and looked rather tired so one could rule out that she had any luck in the dating pool so a young man hitting on her was something that has never happened so she didn't know how to respond to it.

All she could do was smile awkwardly as she parted her hair behind her ear.

"H-He is in room 102," The lady gave Jay the information he sought and Jay bit his lower lips.

'I be comin' back fo' dat ass jelly beans," Jay said, winking as he left the counter.

The woman initially thought he was flirting to get information from her but that wasn't the case.

She didn't even mind if he was, it was nice being flirted with.

Jay was done with his distraction, now it was time to kill this person as he slid the door to the hospital open where Edward was and to his surprise, he could see a body beneath the covers.

"Dat be strange…" Jay thought as he pulled the covers over to reveal a bunch of pillows.

"Tha target be not here," Jay said; he was visibly frustrated.

The target was not here and James was rarely wrong when it came to these things but unknown to Jay, there was a camera that the Razor Riddler had strategically placed.

This was his way of showing Edward he was the target, Edward doubted him but the cameras in the hospitals were already hacked and they were watching Jay. This confirmed that someone was indeed after him but Edward also entertained the possibility that this could be one of his men that he just sent to play this part. Edward left the hospital temporarily to see if someone did come for him, that was his condition to follow this man but he also had no intentions of working for him.

Edward knew that this was a chance that he couldn't let slip through his fingers because it wasn't every day one could get this close to such a highl-profiled man.

He gave a bunch of bullshit conditions that he knew would be met to give the Razor Riddler the impression that he at least "resisted" joining despite having his mind made up long before.

The tale he told about Michael, Edward didn't believe a single word that came out of his mouth regarding this but he was surprised that he knew that name at all.

This meant that this man did his research thoroughly before approaching him, this also meant that he was aware of Edward's ties with Papa.

"That bastard…" Edward said under his breath, he had to play his part and he did just that.

Edward put on a performance worthy of an Oscar as he showed visible "rage" and even the man that came for him couldn't see through it.

"Don't get this twisted! I'm not working for you! I'm only here until you prove to me Michael is alive but until then, don't touch anyone, this includes Gen Z! And in return, you will have my cooperation…" Edward succumbed. Naturally, if someone did their background check on you, they will understand to a certain degree how you respond to certain situations.

Edward was playing into that limited space, this was his way of remaining one step ahead.

"You have my word," The Razor Riddler said as the car they sat in zoomed off.

Jay didn't look particularly bothered by anything that was going on, this included failing to acquire this target that they seemed to have.

Jay sighed as he looked at the details surrounding the mission and it read.

"Protect this boy by all means!" This was what the message read, James never wanted to kill Edward.

He wanted to do the exact opposite but unfortunately, the enemy was aware of their movements.

This was left to James to figure out how because right now, Jay had an older lady to dump his seed in.

He walked back to the reception and the lady expected him to walk right out but Jay did the exact opposite.

"R' yo' ready ta confirm what dem folks say 'bout black guys?" Jay asked and the woman gulped, she was flustered but she very much needed to get her back blown out. She didn't know when next a man would come onto her so strongly.

"W-What do they say?" She questioned awkwardly.

"Shit brin' dat fat ass ova here n' lets find out" Jay teased and before she knew it, she was bent over her desk getting fucked by a guy she had only just met.

And yes, she did confirm what they said about black guys, it was true.
