CHAPTER 50

Yerilia couldn't say a word and just stood rooted to the ground.

Usually a town of a level 1.5 dungeon had level 16 guards as the personal guard of the mayor or in some important position.

These 2 prominent guards were sent here as Yerilia and Karthikeyan were causing quite a havoc by plundering the town.

It was also because the auras they released were superior than the humans who were invading in the front.

The mayor could have went by himself , but he couldn't as he was a healer.

He had no offensive skills and all his stats went into the optimal build for a healer.

It went into intelligence, stamina , accuracy and so on.

Not to mention he had to heal his troops who were dying like flies in front of the human invaders.

Yerilia decided to not probe further.

As Karthikeyan said , she already knew the answer from before... even before they started diving into dungeons.

His overwhelming force and how he killed the demons without batting an eye when the invasion happened.

Even though 5 level 15s using enchantments and so on were a tough opponent , she thought Karthikeyan would emerge on the top with his absurd talent.

As he struggled, she thought maybe he wasn't all powerful. It was just a moment thought.

She wanted to test it out here. 2 level 16 guards who were most probably trained in movement arts would be somewhat a difficult opponent than regular level 16.

Yerilia didn't want to see if Karthikeyan could defeat them or not. A level 20 could easily defeat 2 level 16 demons. Even Yerilia could do it easy than most and Karthikeyan no matter how much she underestimates him could do that much.

But to just test some skills for some time and then just overwhelm the opponent with real strength.

He could have ended the battle before it even started...

He was just testing his skills...

The residual thought of him being slightly weak washed out of her mind.

Maybe 5 level 15 opponents with enchantments are really tough or he was just testing out his skills again...

"That makes it , I believe."

The man whose skin colour was as brown as chocolate and with silver hair whose strands looked like they flowed from the heaven commented.

He currently had the head of the mayor who died with a grimace expression.

To think they would capture a town in just under a day , they invaded the dungeon.

Well he knew that even though "The abundance cave " was a level 1.5 dungeon , it was a dungeon mostly based on economy.

It specialised in resource mining , wood gathering and special stones gathering.

Once the time of the dungeon expired , ie the time the dungeon was no longer available to the humans as the dungeon had no energies to sustain it , the people inside the dungeon , ie the demons, were to be transported back to their lands.

The people of the common kingdom if by chance were trapped would be consumed by the spacial rift existing between the 2 kingdoms.

These kind of information were present in the manual and slowly became solidified when people interrogated the demons about it as they knew about the dungeon the most.

The time when the dungeons were to be expired was available to been seen through the first bar of the dungeon.

Well the main question was , why was this an "economical dungeon?" , wasn't dungeon for fighting?

Well there was something called the universal market offered by the universal system.

There you could sell literally anything , to which the system would then give an appropriate price.

It was the most fair buyer one could get.

One could sell not only the items of usual like talisman , skills , manuals , weapons , potions and so on.

One could sell grains, resources , , stationaries , anything one could think of.

The universal market was the lifeline of the galactic universe.

One could have localised currency in a world but if they had to do something on a universal scale , then the currencies used by the universal market was an essential.

Only it could print and produce these currencies , no one else could...

So for this , the demons used mana, chi and converted it into dungeons. These dungeons produced resources and the demons inside the dungeon sold the resources to the universal market. Usually these jobs were reserved only to the top officials assigned to the dungeons like the mayors and of course the ruler and his advisors.

They also had to sell any loot they got from the invaders and were not allowed to keep it.

They would then be forced to give almost 90 percent of the sales currencies to the demons back home once they returned back after the time of the dungeon expired.

The remaining 10 percent of the sales currencies would be distributed to all the demons who were protecting the dungeon.

"Yeah , people usually clear this dungeon under 10 to 15 days even though it's very powerful. Maybe the results are rigged due to only talented persons like you raiding this dungeon"

A man with glasses and an average build bootlicked the man in front of him while showing his buck teeth.

He was level 14 and a support character who supplied buff skills.

The man in front of him called Alexander was a melee master. He was level 18 and led almost 50 people to this dungeon.

The remaining 20 people who didn't raid this town were sent to other places to survey , so after clearing this town , the people could move swiftly and reach other places of interest without wasting time.

"Hmm, but its also because we didn't face the prominent guards of this town who would be experienced in weapon arts , not to mention the mayor was a non combatant."

"But still , sire your talent is so great. Not everyone has an S level talent!!!. Just mentioning it makes me fear with tremble. How much influence you have would have in the upcoming times. Im glad I stuck to someone like you" the man continued his bootlicking.

Suddenly--

"Party leader!!!" a young man of about 18 years of age came while panting.

He literally traversed from the end of the town where the walls were to the centre of the town where the mayor's office was in just a minute.

That was easily a distance of 2 km. 

But due to that , he was exhausted.

It took him a well 10 seconds to stabilise. Then he--

"We have lost contact with all the 20 people who were sent to survey the places of possible civilisation." he explained in a hurried tone fearing that if he stuttered due to the lose of breath , he would fail to convey the weight of his message.

"What?" Alexander gaped his mouth.

Alexander couldn't believe his ears.

There were 5 people assigned in this 30 people squad to keep up with the 20 people sent to survey the surroundings.

The town they were in was called "Town D". 

The 20 people had reported many sightings of scouts and so on , on their the way.

But as they were led by a level 17 friend of his , the second commander of the 50 man party , they quickly neutralised all the scouts and stray demons on the way and were steadfast...

To think they lost contact with them, did something bad happen? it made no sense...

"What happened , didn't you people keep in contact with them?"

"Yes party leader , it was so the case just 10 minutes ago , but suddenly a call of distress was sent. It was from Brittney. We tried contacting the others , but all of them didn't reply. After some time , contact with Brittney ceased as well."

All the 20 members had communication devices and only the 5 people of this 30 man squad had one. This was given as It was expensive and started from atleast 750 currencies. They were classified as level 2 items and their rankings went on as their abilities improved.

They also had to be replaced quite often as they often got corrupted while reading the mana and chi signals inside the dungeons....
