CHAPTER 45

The monster fell to the ground.

But Karthikeyan didn't stop there.

"Come out , there is no use in hiding." He said in a cold tone

Yerilia frowned. Was someone just spying on them or just waiting for the right moment to attack them?

Soon laughter echoed in the air and before long , a man with long blond hair jumped from a hut made up of tatch and mud and bricks.

"Kid , not gonna lie , you have good senses. Not to mention you have ruined both my plans."

The man although soon frowned hard after smiling for 0.1 seconds.

Just before both parties could say any further, an ear deafening sound was heard. It didn't rupture the ears or anything.

It seemed the sound wave didn't travel but was muffled in some kind of barrier.

Karthikeyan and Yerilia turned around to see that the entire town's wall on all four sides were razed to the ground.

"Well it was good of you predict this would happen" Yerilia commented. "That explosion didn't seem to cause any damage to the surroundings , so it was likely to be a dynamite that only targeted a specific are beyond which it would have no effect."

"Well the explosion was a first plan" the man's expression turned even grimer.

"This is what happens when you let imbecile people do tasks , they always fail miserably."

Soon the man took out a spear from his inventory.

The spear was made up of steel and it glistened in the sun which was in the peek indicating it was noon. Even though the entire spear was made up of steel , there was a clear distinction between the blade and the handle in the form of tread. Those treads were obtained from a monster called [The tread spider].

Overall it was a powerful and durable spear . It was a level 7 weapon.

Karthikeyan's weapon was level 5 while Yerilia's weapon was level 6.

Weapons had levels and the highest know weapon was level 10. It almost costed 20k currency which was almost 20 times the amount Karthikeyan spent on his cladded sword.

One person based on the level of the dungeon on average would gain some currency either from killing demons or when the system gives them for clearing a dungeon.

For a level 1 dungeon it was on average 500 or 1000 currencies. Someone like Yerilia who almost always dived about 3 dungeons in a day got 2000 to 4000 currencies.

But almost all would be spend on potions like health potions and mana potions.

Thats why even though Yerilia dived in a lot of dungeons she still had a level 6 weapon and only had 5000 currencies while Karthikeyan had twice of that as he didn't need those items.

Well as for better weapons , he wanted to first master his techniques. Although a better sword wouldn't hurt to get , he still wanted to be really good at controlling swords and giving a tough fight with low levelled weapons.

"I think you guys don't like to talk , so let us finish with this quick "

The man who spoke was none but Robospierre.

"Im Robospierre , the commander and mayor of this town nice to meet you " he said in a seemingly polite tone but the irony was that he had a deep frown and a grim expression on his face.

Soon enough from the narrow streets of the town came other soldiers.

They could sense some archers aiming at them from the roof of buildings as well.

They were surrounded on all four sides.

"This will be a long battle" Karthikeyan said to Yerilia

Soon the battle commenced when a soldier on their left came in with no weapons. He knew the technique [The claw fist] which basically taught the users how to fight with the fists as it though it was made up of claws. It was a primal technique that followed the attacks of an insect.

This time Yerilia was the one who dealt with the enemy.

She quickly spun the halberd in her hand and hit the enemy with the handle right in his abs with such force that made him , a level 15 soldier cough out blood.

He stumbled to the ground unable to tackle the force. But soon enough it seemed that he was stumbling endlessly even though he was kneeling on all fours in the ground. His head was decapitated.

Yerilia didn't have time to rest and soon enough another soldier who was level 15 came in from behind with a sword , not to mention there was a lighting mage conjuring up the level 6 thunder skill. He was gathering in all his mana in one attack that would prove a potent attack.

Karthikeyan wasn't in a good shape either. He was surrounded by 5 people in which there was a woman.

In fact among the 50 soldiers that cornered them now 49 excluding Robospierre and old man almost half of them were female soldiers unlike the guard stationed on the walls. 

All these female soldiers were all at least level 14 with some being level 15. Maybe they just took in the elite female warriors?

In the world of levelling up , there was no difference between a man and a women. A man could be stronger than a women and a women could be stronger than a man.

The biology scene didn't come into play as we were talking in terms of energy like mana and chi that gave unimaginable powers to the users.

Although that being said most women didn't join the forces though. Maybe they didn't find a point in pointlessly fighting in the front lines when they could just earn crazy money from other things like adventuring? but did adventuring really exist?

Yeah they were monsters but there was no monsters back on earth and not to mention the whole concept of dungeons was different and they contained demons and not monsters.

One female soldier tried to slash his legs with the longsword. Karthikeyan dodged it. The situation was getting dire. His skill countdown was coming down and before he knows it , it would end resulting in his physical defence reduced and skills blocked.

He had 3 minutes to be exact.

The other 3 men didn't stop either. They too attacked with extreme precise hinting they were trained in some arts.

There was also a healer helping them with healing.

Robosperiere watched all this with a smile . There was an old man standing besides him.

"A fine and simple plan like this works as well. Just overwhelm your enemy on all sides and charge right in" he laughed a crazy laugh

"Not to mention it is just 2 people who are the same level as me. But they have quite some skills , not gonna lie , if this plan fails , I and you too would die here."

Robispieere spoke while hinting the last sentence to the old man.

"Well , im just an old man who has outlived all his descendants and is only seeking death to arrive quick. Even though I desire it , I don't think we will fail here , the attack is too strong. Take a look"

Just as he said Both Karthikeyan and Yerilia were struggling. These five soldiers that attacked Karthikeyean seemed to wear armours and weapons that were enchanted.

Items could be normal or enchanted.

Enchanting was a whole different category and it was available through skills or scrolls or potions or what not.

Enchanting skill was very rare so people usually resorted to buying enchanting scrolls that would grant their weapons and items special powers like enchanted power and precision and so on. It was a one time use though.

These were mostly used when the situation was dire and you were fighting someone strong.

To think that these people were using it made it clear that they weren't joking around.

5 level 15 people would be a joke to Karthikeyan but facing people who were using buff skills , enchantments , were constantly healed by a healer from behind , facing occasional magic spells and arrows , it was definitely hard.
