CHAPTER 27

Karthikeyan after killing at least 25 demons got 12000 experience points ,pushing him up a level.

He also got 500 currencies as compensation for killing the demons.

He also didn't distribute his blank points immediately and wanted to distribute it later at some point as he wanted to experience more battles and analyse in what areas he was lacking.

After analysing he would then allocate points in those aspects to get stronger. Even though this was a poor strategy as it would lead to him scattering the points , it was solid for him as he didn't need to worry about attack and defence points.

After 5 hours of the war raging , the demons' lines finally started to crumble as only 100 of them remained on the battlefield. With not more than 20 casualties on the human's side , they stood at a strong 80 member.

Killing a lot of demons , Michael levelled up to level 13 , while Levis , the veteran soldier also reached level 14 , leveraging his strength.

Sophia also levelled up herself and now stood at level 12 imposing a dreadful aura across the fields.

Although the demons were less in number, their morale didn't fall and remained constant.

Due to this , Michael and the others got suspicious and always stood their guards and looked up for any dangers lurking up the corner and just as they thought--

A powerful aura reverberated across the battlefield. The aura affected most of the humans as now they were very close to the demon's unit main camp compared to before the battle started.

The demons all looked up from their backs and as if they knew who was responsible for it , they raised their weapons up in their hands and began to chant war cries.

The humans engulfed by this sudden development maintained their distance and tried to discern the source of this powerful aura that was threatening them.

And soon they spotted a man who was well about 6 feet tall standing upright with a broadsword in his hands.

He wore a full clad armour and looked like he was a knight and that too a glorious one.

As he didn't wear a helmet , his facial features became apparent for everyone to see.

From what one could discern , it was evident that the man infront of him was an elf.

His name was in fact John.

Karthikeyan soon used his [ANGELIC PROWESS and assessed this man in front of him.

He saw that John was about level 16 , almost breaking through level 17 and was a attack machine specialising in raw strength.

Karthikeyan was not afraid of John but rather afraid if the next moves coordinated by his allies would prove fruitful.

This was because , John was not a tough opponent if everyone in his side actually attacked him with good formation and manoeuvres .

But if they failed and let him attack them one by one , then it would be deadly and they would be dropping like flies.

Michael after understanding the situation soon commanded with a loud voice---

"Everyone , we got a tough opponent , but let that not falter you . If we maintain a good formation , we would be able to kill him easily" his voice echoed throughout the battlefield.

Michael had just now used the level 4 skill [THE CONFIDENT SHOUT]. Although a lame title , it was a very useful skill for a leader like Michael that helped him to get through his commands to a wider range of area so people under his command could hear it.

It also added itself a sense of authority, confidence , strength and so on , increasing the credibility and also the effectiveness of the command.

Soon after hearing one of their leaders shout , they all got in to formation with Sophia , Michael and Levis leading the main attack.

Levis as one would expect didn't oppose the plans and soon got into formation as he prioritised his team's safety more than anything. His life as a soldier had made him selfless and thus his current attitude.

Karthikeyan also maintained an important position in the formation although at the back.

Soon lifting his own weapon in the air John commanded his soldiers to attack and soon himself speeded up to the battlefield. He had not experienced any battles since leaving the demon's domain. Today was the day he would quench his blood thirst.

Soon he came before a trio of level 9 swordsmen fighting a duo of demons with potent speed.

"Step aside " commanding the demons to the side in a cold tone while in motion , he lifted his sword high up in the air.

Almost instantaneously moving out of the way , they stepped aside causing the three swordsmen to get confused and thus letting up their guards for a second.

But that one second proved fatal as a brilliant silver light passes and thus splitting the three swordsmen in half with a simple horizontal sword strike.

Both the demons and the humans gaped in shock as they digested the sight in front of them.

"So thats what the level difference between the strong and the weak looks like? " they all thought inside their heads.

They all expected this kind of development to happen , but as they were rejoiced after killing so many demons, that got in to their heads and now they were lax.

Using this as an advantage , John didn't stop and advanced killing the humans.

Soon, his rampage came to an end as his path was stopped by Michael and Levis , with Sophia constantly casting fireballs at his direction.

Clicking his tongue , he soon found himself in a fight against the formidable opponents of the humans attack.

"Sophia!!" Michael shouted at the top of his voice.

Sophia after casting fireballs for 10 minutes soon ran out of mana and found herself surrounded by the other demons who still stood strong due to the appearance of their commander.

Sophia found herself in trouble as she was a mage and didn't specialise in combat.

Soon she was bruised in many places and founded herself injured.

She was on her knees soon after and found herself hanging onto life by a thread.

No one would come and save her as everyone was engaged in tough battle in their own rights.

Michael and Levis were fighting a very strong demon and now that Sophia wasn't covering the flanks and sneakily hitting John with her fireballs , they now found themselves defending harder against the strong opponent. They estimated him to be either level 16 ,17 or even stronger.

Just as every hopes was lost , A whistling sound was heard in the air.

The demon who was approaching her to finish her life soon found herself lying on the ground with blood coming out from her skull.

"Woah , a musket is sure a fun weapon to use "

Hearing a familiar voice , she soon turned around to see a man wearing a familiar mask approaching her.

"Sorry , I got excited from using the musket that I didn't join the front lines as soon as possible" the person spoke in a calm tone.
