CHAPTER 21

Karthikeyan was now in a faze.

He already knew this information , but hearing it first hand , he really came to know how complicated it was.

It wasn't like the normal dungeons where everyone would either be transported to the same place together or not.

"Well thanks for the information , I guess. Hearing it first hand really helped me out a lot" Karthikeyan showed his gratitude.

"Sir , it's no big deal , be at ease please , no need to express me gratitude" the lady smiled at Karthikeyan. The initial fear was now slowly fading and Margaret was no longer feeling as tensed as she was in beginning as by now she knew Karthikeyan had probably no ill intentions towards her.

Cross checking every tiny information he knew with Margaret to see if they were right , Karthikeyan let out a satisfied sigh.

"Well that concludes our meeting today, thanks once again , I will be on my way."

"Yes sir , have a great day . I hope to meet you again"

The man nodded and soon the guests bell rang off depicting the man's departure.

Margaret contemplated about the man . He had a mask on all the time he met her, so honestly she couldn't figure out how he looked . But based on his aura , his frame and his eyes alone she could deduce that the man was nothing less but handsome.

The shop was once again left with the initial customers as Margaret also left the shop.

"Well that concludes all I think"

Karthikeyan now stared at a pile of things that was in front of him. It contained the usual. Food, spare clothes, medicines, water , etc.

For storing all this he had bought a mysterious backpack for 300 currencies that let him store upto 1000 kgs of items.

It was the talk of many adventurers , as everyone had at least one no matter their level.

This was a cheat item especially at the start now. Later it would probably lose its value.

Its working was simple. You put everything into the bag until it's full load . Then whenever the time arises for a need of an item , you just search for it in the digital panel located on the surface of the bag.

The items just disappeared whenever you put them inside.

Also a holographic keyboard would appear in front of you to use.

An interesting feature was that the user could select the language they wished to use for interaction.

There was no one language that the entire world spoke. Even in Europe where countries were located so close to each other didn't speak the same language.

In Karthikeyan's world only North America and South America were colonised.

Asia and Africa pretty much had the same type of people that were inhabiting Europe and also the same technological advancement.

There was no concept of race after all.

There was basically no discrimination among people across the world but that didn't mean that it was nonexistent.

That being said , India's common language was Sanskrit.

The decision to make Sanskrit as the common language came as no one language constituted a majority in India.

Hindi was spoken by English and over half of hispanics and the aboriginals who resided in the north.

While Southern languages were spoken by blacks, aboriginals and other hispanics and some English.

No language stood in majority. Hindi was spoken by 45 percent , southern languages was spoken by 40 percent and other languages accounted to 15 percent.

All the languages had dialects and were used personally to communicate among certain communities.

To eradicate the problem , the historical language of Sanskrit which was used as the scholarly language in Ancient India was made the common language. No people had opposition against this , as mostly everyone were proud that Sanskrit was their language.

Karthikeyan chose Sanskrit and tested all the features until he had no doubts.

The time was now 7 pm.

The room was lit by golden lights. The floor was wooden and the decorations were chic. A young boy was seemingly on a mattress with a towel on his head.

"It seems it will start in 10 minutes, better hurry up"

Sipping the last bit of his tea , and finally getting ready and making sure he took everything , he went out of the house on his new journey.

He had registered for a team that was currently looking for an adventurer who specialised in offence and would serve protecting the mages of the party.

The pay they offered was decent standing at 500 currencies and 1 lakh rupees.

But what made Karthikeyan to press the button was not the pay, but only the nature of the job.

No standing in front of line and revealing his powers and all.

No standing in the rearguard and learn almost nothing.

A perfect job was offered to him. How could he not accept?

Also the average level was now around level 8. So there was no need for him to hide his levels.

In fact the team which was being headed by a level 12 knight only took level 10s and above for this job.

Soon a subway stood in front of him.

Until now , he had always seen these structures either in images or from far. He never saw it up close like this.

There were 2 guards guarding the subway.

It seemed that they had a contract.

"Read the contract thoroughly , if you wish to enter the dungeon. The rules are stated clearly."

Karthikeyan knew what this contract was so he just quickly signed it after taking a brief glance at it.

These 2 guards served the government and both themselves were at level 6.

As of right now , there were no organisations under the government which regulated things like these , they had to resort to small countermeasures like this so they could regulate it for the time being.

According to the contact , the safety of the adventurers were mainly their concern alone and their death wasn't Government't responsibility.

To ensure a fair environment 3 members who were level 7 or above were recruited by the government on short notice to protect the adventures being abused by fellow adventures inside the subway.

This was done so, as adventures now could basically do anything they wanted, that included killing as well. The government or humanity in fact couldn't afford it as the adventurers were the only one who could stand up to the demons and protect the people.

It also stated the team leader who headed the dungeon raid must mention how many people were raiding the dungeons and with their names.

The loots that people found inside were theirs to take and the government still had no rules regarding that except they had to pay almost a tenth of the currencies they made

That meant that Karthikeyan had to share 50 currencies.

Even though the government has lost some of its power, it doesn't mean its out of power

It had managed to attract level 10 individuals under its wing in just under 3 days.

Just the fact that the catastrophe ended in just 2 days was still mind-blowing.
