Chapter 4: My Birthday Gift 2

My ages of waiting for my father's gift have come to end. So, my father presented his gift as all the others did. Soon after my father presented his gift, the guests started to move into their various homes since it's was quite late and the birthday too was somehow over. When the guests were going one was also on his way. He knew he was late but he says it's better to be late than I was never there.....

Around 4pm Lin Hao was at a Cafe trying to cool down his veins and his hunger and thirst to find a lady whom he will marry and spend the rest of his life with. After failing to cook rice for himself. " Oh God please I need a wife. I can't even cook rice. God see me how will I live on my own when I can even cook simple rice. God I know you answer prayers very fast. God please grant me a wife right now."He thought while sipping his drink. Ring ring.... He pick up the call. It was his mom. Lin Hao, how are you doing. I-i-i'm fine m-m-mom. Are you sure you're fine? She asked. Y-y-yes mom I'm g-go-od. Are you sure you're fine? Mom okay fine, I get it okay, I get it. I can't find anyone. Mom I know I need a wife but I just can't get it they are not coming. Last time the girl left me there because I was stammering. One of the them even slapped me in the face. Mom I'm tired. He said in an angry and frustrated tone. When he finished talking everyone was surprised. Those at the Cafe were surprised, his mother was surprised and he himself was surprised. He didn't stammer. Lin Hao I think I will have to call you back. When the call ended, he realized everyone in the cafe was looking at him. I-i-i-i'm s-s-s-sorry. Out of shyness he placed his head on the table for a while. When he place his phone in the jacket he was wearing, he picked his drink and was about to drink he realized something. A lady was standing in front of him. When he lifted his head, his jaws fell. He didn't believe what he saw. Like a dream, the lady he saw looked just like the angel he dreamt of when he was a little boy. She had a midnight black hair that plane over her shoulders. She had a soft strawberry coloured lip which he presumed would taste like how it looked. She wore a blue jeans trousers and a blank and white neatly designed t-shirt on which she wore a blue jeans jacket. She had a glossy skin and a slender eyebrows. Her eyelashes were velvety, as she tacked her hair behind her ears, he saw she had a sea nymph ears, a dainty nose. What even made he heart skipped beats was when she flashed a smile to him showing him her shiny halo-white teeth. Her rapture-blue eyes didn't escape his notice. From her look he believed she had a joyous personality. Hello! she said in a soothing voice. A voice that could soothe anyone's melancholy. When he heard her voice, he alighted from his train of thoughts and responded it his best voice. H-hi, he stammered a little. S-s-should I g-g-get you s-s-s-something? He didn't even wait for her answer, then he ordered a chocolate drink for her. " Oh thank you she said with a smile plastered on her face when the drink arrived". Another smile Lin Hao was not stammering again. They talked and talked and talked. Finally when Hwa-young was leaving they exchanged their telephone numbers and that was it. Lin Hao is about to have a girlfriend. After seeing her go he realized he was late for the business party. It was around 8pm when he set off from the Cafe. He didn't even change. When he got there the party was over. He gave a small gift box to Nyx and told her he was sorry. He knew his boss will deal with him the following day.

It was getting to nine O'Clock pm, when my friend and his parents bid us goodbye. They were the last to leave our house and soon after they left I started unwrapping the gifts which were presented to me with my parents. Soon I unwrapped the last gift which was presented by my father. And what I saw was a brand new bicycle and a helmet. Wow! Dad you are so awesome and as said I embraced him while sobbing because I always watched or rode on my friend's bike. I was so desperate to own one, so that I can go for a ride with my friend someday or ride to school which I know I might never get the chance. My mother always drop me or sometimes my friend and I at school in a car she call a Jeep and another a lam...bor...ghini. I guess I'm not wrong with this one. Well coming to that, my parents have got so many cars. I don't know the number of cars they own. I always wished to grow early so that I can drive some of the cars. My father cleared his throat and I snapped out of my train of thought. A penny for you thought Nyx? Asked her dad. She just stood there and blinked at her dad. Nevermind. Nyx my darling girl, how don't you like my gift? He asked. Mmm let me think of a remark. Well dad your remark is.... My dad was asking me with a dreaming eyes and smiling face waiting for my remark. Dad you remark is....you wait let me see mummy's gift and compare them. Soon after I said that, we started unwrapping my mother's present. My mother's pr sent entailed, a laptop, a game and some chocolates. Thank you mom. I went to hug her but did not cry because if I did me mother would not like it. My mother was a somewhat quiet person, she did talk much but she was very playful while my dad was very noisy and playful just like my mom. My mom was like a precious gem to me. She always read bedtime stories to me before I sleep and I always play with her. The family is a very peaceful family with funny and jovial persons. I rearly get sad. But there is always trouble at night and during th winter. My mother does not rest at all because she always have to make sure my inhaler and other medicines are closer to me and also see to it I take them on time. I love my family for this reason and many more reasons to come since I'm only nine years old. Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunty and uncle I really appreciate you for these gifts. Thank you.
