Chapter Sixteen

As if my life couldn't get any more confusing! Mason officially asked me to go out with him on our first date, which will be in Jasmine's garden to avoid any paparazzi and unwanted attention, then I got an email about joining this media company that deals with interviews and press stuff which is cool but when your employee's brother gets it for you it's not much of a reward for hard work, plus I am only an assistant, so there are some parts of the jobs like advancing where I will have to do things for myself.

"How was the Zoo?" I asked Summer as they both walked into the living room and Summer proceeded to jump on top of me giving me a big hug nearly squeezing the life out of me, she pulled away with a big smile on her face and sat beside me as I tucked my phone into my pocket and closed my laptop down that was on the coffee table.

"It was amazing! we got to see seals! and Monkey's and I even got to feed a giraffe!" she said as I tilted my head back at Mason who was standing behind the Sofa placing his hands on either side of my head "she was a headache then, I take it" I said as he winked at me then looked over at Summer who was just watching us "how could you say that! she was well behaved all the time" he placed a hand on his heart.

Seeing how Mason interacted with Summer made me only wonder what he was like with other children, was he as warm as he was with summer, as playful and cheeky as he was right here? I know that it was stupid of me to wonder but who didn't like a man who was good with children? I'll wait!

"So now that she is off taking a nap, maybe it's my turn to be spoiled?" Mason said as a cheeky smile walked across his face as I frowned my eyebrows with a smile on my face, "and what exactly did you have in mind, Mr Mount?" I asked as he moved in closer to me on the sofa, it felt so normal for us to be somewhat flirting like this as if I wasn't panicking about it a few days ago!

"Say that again for me" he whispered as he hovered over me our lips just about touching, I smirked and placed a hand on his chest "Mr Mount" I whispered as within a swift movement his lips took hold of mine as he lifted my thigh up to rest of his hip keeping his grip as tight as possible.

This was a side of Mason that I could definitely get used to seeing and having to myself, everywhere else he was the gentlemen, this innocent boy who was following his dreams of being a football player and showing the little ones that anything is possible if you are determined, but here he was in control of everything, he knew what he wanted and loved the look of what he was receiving, he was rougher and meaner and maybe a little risky at times but that is the balance you need. have both sides happy and satisfied with what he is giving.

The more I thought about it the more I was ruining the moment I was having with him, I was mentally sabotaging myself, I know I would never be in the right position to accept the hate and the judgments that I would get if we were to go public, I am a mixed race girl who had some to no idea about football who has now got a job because of a football player. They would eat me alive!

"You okay? is it too much" mason pulled away and looked at me with worry and concern laced in his voice, I shook off my thoughts and gave him a weak smile, "yeah just overthinking again," I said as he pulled us both up from the couch and as last time I was straddling in his lap while he just stared at me waiting for me to say something else.

"We can take this slow you know? I don't want to scare you off, I know that you thrive off of being a strong woman but it's okay to have someone by your side sometimes, even if I do annoy the life out of you" he said with a small smile as he placed a kiss of my forehead, I nodded and leaned in resting my head on his shoulder as he rubbed my back.

"They are gonna hate me if we ever go public" I whispered, I could feel his frown and his body stiffened up which only meant he didn't like what I just said. Go figure.

"Don't say that anyone who doesn't like you isn't a fan of mine, you are smart, short-tempered, independent and passion with a crazy drive to you, I admire that, it's super sexy" he said as I pulled away from his sofa and looked at him with a scrunched up nose and a small smile on my face.

"Never say sexy again. Ever!" we both laughed and he nodded "do I get a kiss then?" he asked as I rolled my eyes and placed both of my hands on the back of his neck "also can you please for the love of God grow out your hair so I can get the full effect of your fluffy hair," I asked as he rolled his eyes and we both leaned in sharing a comfortable and cute kiss.

It's wild how I started this job all bitter that I had lost my previous job and that I hated the mere sight of Mason and his happy little life with his cheeky little attitude and smile, and now I am in a secret relationship with non-other than Mr Mount himself, I don't know how it's all going to go when I finish this job but I just hope that we can still be as private and as secret as possible even with our clashing schedules and distance.
