Chapter Nine

"4...3..2.1 I'm coming for you!" I shouted from the living room as I made my way upstairs slowly creeping around so that she would make some kind of noise and I would be quiet enough to hear it, one thing I learnt about summer is that she can't keep still for more than 5 minutes let alone a whole game of hide and seek.

Scanning the whole of the top floor of the house there was no sign of the perpetrator, I can't be this rubbish at finding a child right? "I am coming to getcha" I shouted out again as I thought maybe she would let out a giggle or a sigh or something that gave me some kind of indication she was here.

Nothing! Okay downstairs, I crept down the stairs and into the living room "come out. come out wherever you are" I said as I started looking under the sofa and lifting up the cushions, this girl was good, or maybe I was truly rubbish at this game, either way, I had two places left to look, the garden and the Kitchen.

As I was about to walk into the kitchen an arm snaked around my waist and a hand around my mouth and I got pulled to the staircase, I tried to scream but before I could the burglar turned me around and let me go.

"MASON!" I hit him in the chest as he quickly defeated himself by grabbing my wrists and giving me a cheeky smile "hey! watch it! I am dressed to impress" he said as I quickly did a scan of his outfit, I mean jeans that had an outline of what could be mistaken for a skeletons low region and a white vest with a colourful patterned open buttoned shirt.

"If you call that dress to impress" I rolled my eyes and chuckled short and sweetly, I mean that wasn't by any chance "dressing to impress" It was more dressing up for a date to the cinema or catching a bite with a date, just going on a date in general. Not that I was saying it's not bad for him to be dating or going on a date.

"Well you are currently in sweat pants that are two times bigger than your actual size, they could even be mine? and a Band T-shirt that has seen better days, I mean come on Black Sabbath? who listens to them" he questioned as I pulled my wrists away from him and walked out to the living room.

"I do! Black Sabbath make great music! just because I don't listen to much mainstream doesn't mean you crap on my music!"

Before Mason could answer Summer had come out from wherever she was hiding and run straight into Mason's arms which he gladly accepted and lifted her up

"Look who it isn't!" Mason added as he bopped Summer on the nose and she literally went like putty in his arms resting her head on his shoulder and staring at the two of us facing each other off.

"Why are you even here?" I asked trying to sound nice for Summer's sake but bitter for Mason's understanding, I crossed my arms and he chuckled as if he enjoyed seeing me annoyed which only made me more annoyed with the fact he got off by seeing me mad.

"I had invited you to the premiere with me, but someone doesn't keep their phone on them, I did ask you to be ready by the time I am here but looks like it did get through," he said as I flicked from him to my phone that was clearly on the island counter that was there the last time I checked.

Where's my phone, I mentally was rattling my brain while literally patting myself down, I looked back up and Mason had my phone in his hand.

I snatched it off of him without another word "oh and by the way Thor wants an update on how you are getting along with me, I would tell him we are on common grounds" he said with another smirk placing Summer down, he crouched down to her level "I would gladly miss a premiere to spend time with you" he said as she hugged him around the neck and then released and stepped back.

"Staffie let us have Chinese and we watched The Winx Club! then we played hide and seek, thank you for hiding me in the oven" she said as I caught onto the last part of her sentence "excuse you...you did what?" I said as I grabbed him by his shirt.

"Hi Summer go watch some TV quickly I am just going to get caught up with Mase okay," I said as she nodded and walked off.

Dragging Mason up the stairs and into the hallway, "wow you may want to ask me to dinner first" he sarcastically said as I let go of his shirt and then hit him again in the chest "you gotta stop doing that" he rubbed his chest and smile as I sarcastically smiled then it disappeared.

"First you act like you are about to kill me and then I hear you put her in the oven! do you know how to be an adult at all? Second off, My phone is my space! reading it is a breach of privacy, I am a nanny, not your friend, or your next fling, or some chick that you can mess about with, Thirdly Thor is my best mate he's also a fan of yours don't make me turn him into your hater" I said as stuck both his hands up in surrender "I didn't and don't want any beef with anyone okay, plus this whole you are just a nanny isn't new news to me, you aren't anything else to me, maybe you just are reading this wrong" he said pointing between us, I rolled my eyes obviously he'll deny it...I not saying I'm not denying because if I thought there was something then I would but because there is nothing I have nothing to confirm or deny.
