Yeah I agree. So far author has been trying to create the setting for the start of the story via infodump, but honestly most of what has been said can be summed up to "All of the adventures I've had, the dangers and troubles I've been through and the relationships I've formed are manipulations by an old, bored man who thinks he knows better than everyone else" BAM add a few details and there you go. My recommendation for the author is to condense all the chapters until this one into one or two chapters and to add some emotion to it. it's very dry reading. no one could recount that their whole life has been a lie the same way they would recount words from a dictionary. I read all those chapters but iIfeel like I could have read the first chapter and read this one and I wouldn't have actually missed anything.
