10,000 galleons for unlawful imprisonment of 10 years in Azkaban? Outrageous. That’s only 1,000 galleons per year. He was an auror. At least they could match his auror’s salary per year. Not to mention the physical, emotional, magical, mental, and spiritual damage being in Azkaban causes. The dementors stripped him of all his happy memories. He’ll never be able to get them back. He’s been fed gruel for a decade. He’s malnourished and sickly. He was tortured. Surely, that’s worth more than 10,000 galleons!? I’d go after the estates that caused him to be unlawfully imprisoned. Barty Crouch and the officers who threw him in prison. And Sirius is such a beta male. Forgiving Dumbledore? I wouldn’t even begin to forgive him unless he himself spent a decade in Azkaban to see what it was like.
