A spellcaster deck would be really nice but to be realistic he can't do a dark magician deck. So I will put here some recomendations for the deck of that timeline. Breaker the Magical Warrior King of the Swamp (For fusions) Mirage Dragon (Is basically a lv 4 Jinzo but only for the battle phase) Silent Magician (The effect version that can be special summoned and negate spells)
Piercing the Darkness would be a perfect troll card (just gotta ignore the Synchro and Xyz). ;) Piercing the Darkness Continuous Spell If you Normal or Special Summon a non-Token Normal Monster(s) (except during the Damage Step): You can draw 1 card. When an attack is declared involving an opponent's monster and a monster you control that is a Level 5 or higher Normal Monster, or was Ritual Summoned using a Normal Monster, or was Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Summoned using a Normal Monster as material: You can make that monster you control gain ATK equal to that opponent's monster's ATK, until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Piercing the Darkness" once per turn.
Magikuriboh would be a great Duel Spirit to have. :) Magikuriboh Attribute: DARK Level: 1 Types: Fiend/Effect Atk/Def: 300/200 Effect: During the Main or Battle Phase, if you took damage by battle or an opponent's card effect this turn (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY; Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician" or 1 "Dark Magician Girl" from your Deck or GY. If a face-up Spellcaster monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect: You can add this card from the GY to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Magikuriboh" once per turn.
