it just makes the mc op for no reasno and makes the story boring. there are alot of means of getting power in douluo franchise and becoming op just slower and more enjoyable. in my opinion one martial soul was enough even if it was weak you can write a whole arc on how he evolves to become super powerful or how he upgrades it with every soul ring with the 9th becoming god level or even how he had 2 martial souls and they fused to become one op
