think the idea of giving wishes is okay the wish wasted on appearance is strange personally i like it better when the protagonist is just inexplicably thrown into another world with powers and no explanation. kinda like how Lord Of The Mysteries Klein was isekai’d(please no spoilers) i feel like it’d make a hella lot more sense considering mcs powers r from cthulhu mythos. maybe have the grimoire turn into a loli like from eldergod demonbane?
its not that out of place in fantasy though. grimoires turning into people. dolls, automatons gaining free will. cursed tools becoming sentient. just look at full metal alchemist the big bad was basically an artificial lifeform that lived in a glass flask. goetia from fate grand order was basically the same too. if anything its a super common trope. what i think you hate is when say a bad fanfic author creates a system then has it turn into a loli/little sister or harem member with no little to no characterization. again anything can be done well as long as the author puts in effort. this also is problematic since technically magical summons like say golems could easily be given sentience and turned into humans in any fantasy setting. and thats just one take. lets say mc creates some fire spirit to help him out and then later on down the line it ends up with a hot chick form? really i think you just hate bad writing done with this trope.
AzureFluteFan2:I agree with everything except that last bit. I absolutely loath when an ability, power, or object turns into a human. It makes things really weird, and awkward to read.
