Why not try The Sentry? SI is born after WW2 and he decided to focus on himself since he has no parents as well as him avoiding the sentry serum due to the fact he is Robert Reynolds, he would chose to train from various figures as well as make his own company. However, by a twist of fate as the very object find itself to him once more forcefully giving him powers. He would then go on an existential question of can he be a better hero or a devastating villain?
