Gaunt and black? Even disregarding some bias he can get, those are really not even the best families around. I mean being gaunt is extremely risky anyways, they are freaking crazy, as in actually mentally ill. Overall, to me at least he taking a lot of risk for little gain.

Will this first chapter have any relevance later in the story? Will the origin of those messages be explored? Otherwise it would be totally unnecessary and you could have simply reincarnated the MC in an alternative Harry Potter universe, and the system that seems It would be created by MC himself through magic, since otherwise it seems more like a futuristic virtual reality of an advanced civilization, which is unpleasant.
