You had a great a concept and interesting world but could help stepping on your own feet. Assuming what the mc said about the cure is true you've removed the main driving force behind the story. There is no reason for any of them to be in conflict anymore which goes against the whole reason Cthulhu even began this whole thing in the whole place. Instead you are forced to drum up this bs about constructive and destructive greed.
