I think what makes me dislike more what happened about the "hold back" is the fact that he is not really "himself", which makes me see him as a fusion of Shikamaru and the dude that transmigrated, as in those cases I see it as the original him not existing anymore.

Yo author. This doesn't work. If the MC reincarnated as Shikamaru as a baby then even if he doesn't have past life memories, shikamaru will act like the mc since he has mc's personality and og shikamaru never existed in this universe. So there is no possibility of the mc acting like og shikamaru even when he has no past life memories since they are 2 different people and mc's soul did not merge with og shikamaru's soul. Cause you haven't written anything about soul-merging and that would make this transmigration and not reincarnation.
