Yeah, good start. I always say that at the beginning of a story, you have to make the reader either like or sympathise with the protagonist. In this game, you did well as it's easy to feel sympathy for him. Boy needs someone to show him some appreciation after everything he's done. Now, he just needs to become likeable and you'll have a great protagonist.
