I really feel that this story is like a story of Pawn King [img=thinking]You know, the type which gets to rule a kingdom but not really since there are people in the shadows that dictate what the MC should do and how to run his kingdom and people, sure he did incredible feats, but in the end, he answers to his puppeteers [img=thinking]Pawn Kings are stepping stones, made to be conquered by true protagonists who defeats this false ruler and fights with his puppet master/s, and this Pawn King will be forgotten in that protagonist's story [img=thinking]If only the MC showed some guts and more of that fierce side when he killed Mirage, and did not revert back to being submissive, atleast not bow his head and cry every time he forced to do something he doesn't want to or being powerless do something about it [img=thinking]Whatever he reaches in the future, acolades, awards, wives(?) and position or titles, to me, they are all empty, they were given to him by the admiral, sure he performed greatly, but the MC was put there by him, the admiral keeps giving the MC a stage, and the MC performs as a pawn should, he did not go there on his own terms, he did not go there for his own goal, he did not go there with the ambition to do something great or make a foundation of his own plans... He went there to do the bidding of the admiral, not his [img=angry]
