I feel Raylen is there bc he's aware of Dante's demon awakening and the chaos that's supposedly to come with it's awakening. I think he also has other motives but let me just use the part of the story that says the storm demon was peaceful so let's hope he just wants peace as well and I hope he doesn't want to achieve that by killing the demon aka Dante. I also ship Emily and him, I don't know why. I love MQG so much. She's literally one of my best characters in the book. In as much as I feel bad for Maxwell, he deserves every bit of pain, guilt and suffering. He dug his own grave the moment he decided to go with his mother's plan. Maya has always been power hungry. What's to say that Sophia really persuaded their father to throw his mother, sister and he to the old palace?! All in all, this is kking William's fault. But then again, I'm sure he was aware how the father didn't really fancy Dante bc he was without a Crux regardless of if he won every battle he was sent to and I'm sure he was aware of how much Aiden didn't want anything to do with the throne because he wanted to be free. He's really just pathetic. And even after losing Mary and having to suffer a tremendous amount of pain, he's still planning to make everyone around him miserable as if they're the cause of his problems. it's infuriating! Maxwell deserves no pity. He claimed to love Marianne yet was willing to throw her away for the throne even though he wanted the throne because of her. I really don't just like Maxwell even though I understand the reason for his choices but right now he's way past redeeming.
Okay, this chapter proved me wrong about Maxwell's character. What ever I said to him from the past, I take those back (some). đ I actually feel bad for him, he really does love Mary. Clearly he didn't meant to hurt her, but what he had to do because of his mother and the plan.đ At this point, the Blackthorns were used the way they are now in this story is all because of King William, who is the fault in this rooted family had done favoritism on his wives and children. Made everyone turn each other completely different and competitive, becoming who's better or not. Anyways, glad to read Max's POV. Honestly, his character way better and interesting than Niyasa. Never care any of that girl.
Oh yeah and Maya just told Maxwell( about 4 chapters ago) he had to kill every male heir to really take the throne. So he is going to try it I'm afraid with Anna being what he thinks he needs right now....he already started breaking the decree by drinking and going to her room when its all been approved already...Maya wanted to use his yearning for Mary that he was projecting onto Anna to get him to continue being her puppet. Him and his bratty sneaky sister don't know when to stop and I hope it gets all 3 of them in a ditch together...no sympathy at all from me...I meant to bring the fact back up in my last comment but forgot.
King Maxwell feels like a lost Soul right now that doesnât know what to do and miss Marianna. I wonder who is his soulmate? đ¤ Prince Raylen, you know queen mother has your eyes on you and knows you are planning something. Queen Mother your gut is right he is up to no good. Let see what happens?
