Out of curiosity, do you have an idea of where you want this story to go? More often than not, writing ends up like this if you don't have an overall plan for the story. You leave the details for when you're writing but work out the overall story first, then when you have that, writing it or at least coming up with idea's for the arcs u want will become easier. At least, that's what I think.
