The Dream Anathema

The voice sounded distorted, I went on my defensive pose waiting for something to happen. “You are a thema, your job is to accompany children in their nightmares.” The voice distorted. “You are a- ***** You are to obey the excellency and assist at all times, you are forbidden to get out of this *********” I wasn’t able to hear some words. It sounded like screams of pain. I trembled as I listened to it. Its sentences kept repeating except that it got louder and louder as I lost my hearing and sight.
