It's really sad, Viserys understands that after his death a war may break out and the Targaryens will fight among themselves, shedding each other's blood, but it's hard for him to admit it. Especially worse is the understanding that it is already too late to change anything, the conflict will be anyway. Hope remains only on Maegor, who is ready to take decisive action if necessary. I think it’s not easy for Meygor either, he doesn’t want war or kill relatives, but he is ready to do it, he has really grown over all these years, becoming more mature and more determined. Let's hope Maegor stops the bloodshed with less casualties.
I believe that Viserys has grasped the measure of his nephew as a man and ruler. He now understands and realize that the MC isn’t like his namesake, or his father Daemon at all. Instead, I bet he so wishes that Rhaenyra was more like her cousin for many reasons. One of them being the fact that he owns a better temperament in comparison to the choleric temper of his cousin, dad and ancestor combined. He had been so melancholic at the start of the tale, since he had committed suicide in his previous life. But now he became more phlegmatic since then. Almost like he discovered his reason for living again. Due to the way Rhea encouraged him before she died, saying that he has to be his own man and live his life on his own terms without trying to please others. Other-wise, they will only take advantage of him if he starts to concede to all their demands like she’d more or less said. She really gave him the determination that he needed to make something of himself. As the both of them knew all along that he has no other alternative but to play the Game of Thrones. Even, if he doesn’t become king at the end of this story. He still gotta elevate and consolidate his position of power so that no one can ever pose any sort of threat to him and all those he holds dear in the future. Maegor’s become a Stoic in a way. Except more ruthlessly pragmatic and cunning than Maximus from Gladiator or Ned Stark from GOT because unlike them. He’s just proven that he is not the type of person that’ll take half measures when dealing with his enemies and will always do things out of necessity.
To be honest just poison the both faction, aegon, aemond, daeron for the greens and daemon, rhaenyra, rhaenys That will give us their dragon riderless thus ensuring the house and kill the strong boys That will leave baby aegon and viserys to became the heir they will marry Maegor child so that the faith stop barking I really don’t want to see The Dance happens
Maegor is being wise and making it clear that he doesn't care about the petty fight for the Throne, that the important thing for him is to ensure the legacy of House Targeryen (Dragons) or so once the war starts he will probably send a message to both sides saying his position, and I can even imagine him entering the end of a fight to save the dragons with Rune Magic. I also hope he creates some family rules to cut the influence of the 7's faith in the royal family, make them show their faith only superficially.
