Eh the confrontation was a bit overdrawn out. It wasn't even to better torture him or wave a bit of hope only to take it away it kind of just felt like it was being dragged on in order to artificially cause more drama.
Honestly, does he not see that if he gets to the doc first, he doesn't have to kill Pietro thus gaining a chance to perhaps sway two powerful mutants to his team. Feels dragged out man.
