I would have preferred if he had killed them himself but this works as well. he could have also just cast a spell of light to snow the people that he was also a mage, would they still dare to be so insolent then? :)

this is a really good chapter author, keep it up pls or at least close to this hype.

This was probably not a super smart move. He feels betrayed but so did the citizens. He’s just going to create great civil unrest. Like what are you whining about Gabriel? You’ve been ruler for like a week and the people literally don’t know that you have done anything. If you are going to kill them, fine. Just stop acting like you are the victim.

I was so for Gabriel becoming a better person and we really were seeing some progress there even though there were setbacks he wanted so badly to keep not even a promise to his master but he wanted to do something for what he considered was one of the only two people in his life that so far didn't turn their back on him after knowing what he was and truly treated him like a human. and I can 100% see this situation unfolding. he went and risked his life almost died and did nearly everything in his power to keep the people of the Empire safe and even though no one knew it there instead of being quiet and ungrateful which wouldn't have hurt Gabriel as much they were instead outspoken and aggressive and when it triggers old trauma no matter how quickly you were healing how far up the hill you've gotten as soon as the boulder you're pushing up that hill starts to roll back even just a little bit it is so much easier to step to the side and watch all your progress go away that is exactly what happened here and it is amazing. I'm loving this book author keep up the great work please

this is so dumb… says NOTHING to the masses to get them to calm down or improve relations. just kill them all because their ruler looks like he didn’t do anything to save them. of course they’ll be mad when their ruler hasn’t show up to help after all this devastation, or made any show of trying to protect the people! i’m dropping this. so many of the decisions he makes are the most idiotic possible

Ouch… like offer anyone the chance for a fight to the death in that tournament anyone who challenges either kills Gabriel and gets to become the new emporer or dies at Gabriels hand…. so much simpler and gets all points across
