This is just so well written through and through. There’s never a moment where you think, gosh, this is tedious, or you get tired with the two main characters. It keeps being interesting. I so wish that the author will continue down the road perhaps by other publishing ways. She obviously has many fans around the world.
It's like reading the story through the eyes of another person with this English translation. Like a re-imagination of it. The only complaint I have is that, why does the author think saliva is sexy? I hate sopping kisses irl. It's exactly what Riftan would do though. Instead of giving and taking, he just tastes all of her as he pleases. I just don't enjoy that kind of kissing irl either. Like, I like it mutual.
Just finished Riftan's pov and at some point i started to wonder if Maxi was a goddess cause Riftan whorship like she is. He never seems to think of her as a human being who has her own share of sufferings because she is the duke's daughter. He is selfish and obsessive. He has had a difficult life and thinks he is the only one. So far in the story just because Maxi is his wife he assumes he can have her whenever he wants, why can't he even ask ? And when he does ask he doesn't wait for an answer
