It's like reading the story through the eyes of another person with this English translation. Like a re-imagination of it. The only complaint I have is that, why does the author think saliva is sexy? I hate sopping kisses irl. It's exactly what Riftan would do though. Instead of giving and taking, he just tastes all of her as he pleases. I just don't enjoy that kind of kissing irl either. Hm, this chapter is different than what I remembered. I'm surprised more people aren't uncomfortable with the end of the chapter. It's turns more obviously non-consensual there. The story is set in a fictional society where wives are treated like property, but still it's uncomfortable to read Maxi sometimes pushing him away and thinking of ways to get him to stop. It's different than their first night because Riftan has a choice now, meanwhile Maxi has never had a choice in the matter. He is gonna make her skin feel too raw to touch if he does it too many times. 😬

This is portrayed very different in the manhwa... They definitely romanticized it compared to the real story here.
