i think he'll have her persecuted, bcs the golem is a big threat for him if he wanna invade. he's also aligned with the orthodox church and think mages as heretics. especially with the longstanding animosity with riftan

How terrible was the battle that it would wound Riffy? And leave a scar, at that. I have a feeling he majorly downplays the severity of this wound because he doesn't want to worry Maxi. He's a man that would infiltrate monster city by himself and get out completely unscathed.

I don't think it's possible at this point yet. Riftan can't trust Maxi enough to allow her to take risks and let her do what her judgement tells her.
