I notice that you're not focusing on the space. Do you just want an upgraded inventory or is it the same as the original? If it's the same then isn't it better to strengtening the space than training that human possession?

Great story so far! As for a weapon, I think it would be cool for the MC to use a spear or any polearm variants. Like a glaive, trident or even a naginata.
