randomdude:so the tutorial bugs didn't have corpse poison as a part of their biology and its just magic, not at all apart of their physiology? lets say that is indeed the case. then what about the apes he killed to gain the low-light vision skill? what about the underwater breathing skill he got from the salamanders that have it because their skin can efficiently diffuse oxygen in water? the monster ants, the worms? I honestly think the author should have just ripped off the system from "cultivation! my statuses have unlimited duration". What the mc's system considers to be "passive skills" is way too vague. a smart way of doing it is by having the mc figure out a way to give organisms like rats or small dungeon creatures positive abnormal conditions and then quickly killing them before it runs out. And have gaining statuses from special monsters be a boss reward type deal. imagine the mc's first real boost from his talent being after he worked hard and fought smart to defeat what is essentially a mini boss or saving up enough to buy a positive potion that lasts for a short moment and using it to gain a permanent version of it by giving it to something weak and killing it. it'd be much more of an interesting read than what we've gotten so far. buying temporary boost potions from people and then using weak creatures to gain them permanently would make it so that the mc at least has to work really hard and be smart for his talent to match the best ones for the early to mid stages of the game. its a nice way of balancing his talent since only special monsters and bosses would have natural passive skills that don't originate from their physiology. It would still make him broken AF in the end game but overall doesn't make it feel like he got extra EXTRA special treatment from the world/system, since there are people with talents that. within the context of the game. Are just as strong as he is since they would either have the same late game potential or have much stronger early and mid games making it so they could pull ahead of other players(mc included), amassing great resources or networks. using their lead to their advantage. idiots who rely entirely off of how strong their talents are in the early game will be picked off and people who played it smart will march even further ahead gobbling up any rare thing they find. people with late game talents will have to play it safe so as not to expose themselves before having the ability to match the ones who pulled ahead first and didn't let it go to their head.
