Comments of chapter undefined of Unbound Familiar

Is it funny that my first comment on the story is after it ended? I think it depends on the perspective. I won't say I liked everything about the story, but I guess that's the way it is. You like some things and not others. I don't think the story was bad, on the contrary, it was very good. I think the most striking aspect about the story is how it deviates from the canonical plot in the most unconventional way possible. Usually it's that hero thing that starts out dominated and solves all the problems, prevents bad things from happening and creates a harem with all the women he meets. Familiar Unconsolidated completely deviates from this premise and presents a darker and crueler, but also more human and realistic perspective of what would happen to someone in Michael's situation. I'm not going to lie, the guy is full of flaws and has a screwed up mind, but he's no less human for that, even after becoming a god and then a fundamental force. I personally believe that I would have made many of the same choices he made, not all, but many. Enough to regret it, if there was still anything left of my original self. Many of Michael's choices have caused more harm than good, especially in Familiar of Zero, but isn't that how the real world works? The choices we make, the things we do, even if well intentioned, do not necessarily cause the best result. That was his case. He made a decision, he made a mistake, the consequences of his actions fell on him and he had to deal with those consequences, however unfair they were. Perhaps events would have turned out differently if he hadn't killed that noble boy (whose name I won't bother remembering), but that time has passed. Honestly, I really liked that the story took such an unusual path, it would have been much less interesting and much more predictable otherwise.

The only thing that I would like to criticize about the Familiar of Zero part, is that Michael should have stolen the book first and found Tiffania after he got the book, no Charlote, no travelling adventure..... The path would be just the summoning, then escape, then planning while being tortured, get the book and get Tiffania, it's understandable for him to come up with that kind of plan and change of personality after being tortured for a long period of time, and Tiff was only supposed to be found out if Saito interacted with her, with a shorter cast from familiar of zero it would be more interesting to explore other worlds, having the couple alone for some time would help you properly corrupt Tiffania while making their relation deeper and more intimate, besides that point, it was a pretty cool story, Sultr being a dragonborn with so little souls absorbed would have been a perfect plot device for him to actually absorb Alduin and change he had "space" for that and your original idea of him being tormented by the souls he absorbed would be viable, but what is gone is gone.

brother, I am satisfied. It wasn't the best story, but it was a good story for me.

2 things I didn’t like were 1. Charlotte who obviously loved him and she kinda got tossed to the side 2. When Michael rescued the erendar and I probably spelled that wrong I thought he said he would come back and fight the big guy who almost killed him yet he never did

Was a pleasant ride, I'm sad it's the end but I'm sad everytime I finish a story I like so yeah. Only thing I find really bothersome is some choice by the cast. Though I guess it wasn't that important. Like the kingdom who put horde of monsters under their control in the Familiar/zero arc. And the absolutely smooth brain strategy of throwing their army of monster + men at a fort wall in the middle of the day when they were outnumbered and the underdog in direct might. Like, bruh. If I'm a kingdom fighting for survival I'd carefully strategise things like taking into account monster strength and even then, I'll probably opt to use guerilla tactics. Desperate or not, it wasn't realistic. Another point was Michael, I have read both Elder Blood and Steel Waste and your MC really do blend together. Their morals and view toward the world are all pretty much the same. Cynical to death with holier than thou opinion about their ways. They are in never the 'wrong' despite their cruelty, even if a character talk to them after the fact. Also fun fact, all of your characters dabbed in the art of genocide. Though Michael was the worst. His stunt with AoT was insane. Like he certainly oofed a ton of children and gave no sh** about it. The adult I care less cause they were part of a toxic system. But children? I don't think they deserved dying eaten by Titans. Anywho that's what I think, I don't know if you're gonna read this since I'm late but overall good job. Great fic.

I absolutely despise the spam "reviews". Makes it so hard to find out if the fic/novel/book is any good without having to invest time to read it and then find out it wasnt for you. Cant people just write a decent review or not at all?

I was really hoping to see an Afton Parker / Mikhail Tahlin get together. Im rereading Steel Waste currently and I gotta say even though you're bummed you haven't progressed much I fell in love with both of these MCs and their companions. I'm glad to see the side characters got much more fleshed out since Waste and would have actually died of happiness if you pulled a Book of Boba Fett S2 and blind cut to Big MT with no warning and started doing that for a few days! then having both combine somehow or just wrap up one while setting up the sequels? idrk. Finally I want to thank you for writing in general, I've been going through some seriously tough times lately and reading your works has kept me sane and given me something to wake up to in the mornings (I get your chapters at around 7am my time in California). I'm super excited to go read your Harry Potter book and I cannot tell you how excited I am to see Cyberpunk. If I could request something? could you save David Martinez and make him a side character? I loved him I Edgerunners and hope you'll think about him. Sorry for rambling and maybe asking too much. I don't mean to be that guy!! xD

I enjoyed the fic. Sure, there were moments I wanted to pull out my hair in frustration, but it was mostly due to the suspense of events being held back from happening because of the need to flesh out the characters used, and to build the world. So in that sense you could say my biggest grievance had when reading this was reading the filler. I really enjoyed this and can't wait to see how you apply your goals to the next fic.

I thought it was good, while a few points felt a little filler like to be honest I thought this was over all really good fanfic. I do have to admit I prefer more traditional hero like mc’s who are help save the day and such but I also like smart mc’s which your character did great at after the zero arc. The one thing I personally hated the most was how Louise got treated in this fic, especially how he had to basically betray his owed favor to her for the book and how he wanted to keep the book even after he left despite it could help that world from the dragon. Personally I thought you were gonna have a little bit of a redemption arc with mc going back to zero world and helping save Louise’s crew at pretty close to last minute, for his girlfriends forgiveness or something.
