Some might say, that Ned's reactions were overplayed. And they kinda were, but please put yourself into his shoes for a moment: The person who's on the other side of those conversations is a child. A child, who's more conniving, scheming and plotting than anyone he's ever met. His mask breaks this severely only because he he believes, that they are loyal. He feels somewhat safe and needs the outlet, lest he goes crazy. Also keep in mind, that this version is what, 26 years old? The immensity of Duncan's plans is way above everything he has ever planned in his tenure. He isn't just called the quiet wolf because he himself is a silent type. He also doesn't like to ruffle feathers and make big moves unless it's absolutely necessary. And basically everything, that Duncan plans is a big move... Cheers fellas! Have a good start into a new and hopefully exciting new year.
Man, mc is turning into real boring person. Now he became another Targaryen simp. And if his goal is to get Jon to throne, giving him Moat cailin is bad idea. After all that would mean crown would own moat cailin, making it kinda useless for defending north. Sure, Jon wouldn't do anything, but what of his kids? Ned's original idea of giving Moat to his own children is correct. Besides, he's just as safe in Winterfell.
