That's why I don't like authors who start new work without completing first one. Just few weeks ago I was following a good series and then author started new work, he told the readers that he will work on both projects but not even a week leter he end the first series with very rush ending so he can focus on new project. It's not the first time, many Webnovel authors do that, always forgetting about previous story when start new one. Hope you are not same as those and at least give this story and ending it deserves.

I Think the delay is because he had surgery and then had surgical difficulties and he is now catching up chapters for his promises on patreon because he's only 10 ahead there instead of the 20 promised he seems to have had more backlog of the other book probably because he just started writing so he had more inspiration before the issues

Well this sucks, it seems to me that the author has most probably dropped this novel seeing as to how it hasn't been updated for 4 months now. It sucks, but either way it was a great novel to read thank you for the effort you put into this novel corn looking forward to reading the DC novel.
