I like it. Let the European powers waste resources on the crusade. I would like some chapters just to be based on Germany. A full description of what has happen in the country. Infrastructure and monuments that they have built. In the north and south of the country. How big is the Imperial capital? What other cities has he founded? Did he build another palace? military bases? ports? stuff like that
I feel that even though these Catholic armies are armed with rudimentary firearms, their lack of access to saltpetre will essentially cause a shortage of gun powder after some time. On the other hand the German niteries can keep supplying saltpetre to Byzantine Empire and Tirmuid Empire has access to its own saltpetre deposits in Central Asia. Against this backdrop, I don't expect Catholic crusader armies to fare well against joint Byzantine-Tirmuid defense of holy land. Since the Papacy could be expected to keep dispatching forces to holy land untol its captured as it has essentially become a matter of pride for them I expect the Catholic forces to be stalled and ground to dust in a meat grinder. Moreover since these Catholic forces are likely to waste valuable manpower and resources which were being stockpiled for German crusade in conquest of holy land, when the German crusade takes place its likely to feeble and fizzle out against entrenched German defense lines. Well played Berenger, rlthrough one move he not only secured himself and his allies against further attacks from Muslim.world, but has also greatly reduced the influence of Catholics by excluding them from arrangement. I expect the well supplied Byzantine Empire to come out relatively unscathed from this conflict, while the Tifmuid Empire would be bruised but still manage to win and the Catholics would be badly trounced in this conflict thereby greatiy shaking their confidence to go against German Empire in the upcoming crusade.
