my wild theories: i wonder if the vampire king is aware of this all happening. he is bored with the stagnant society of vampires so he allows his oldest son to work with the hunters to revitalize vampire to work to get stronger for the growing threat in the vampire world. But ultimately when it fails he will give in and his son will kill him thinking he was finally won against his dad then victor brushs off all the son is as worthly leading to the sons destruction and victor taking the throne?
