You're telling me his parents were willing to surrender to protect their kids, but they're willing to stand up for a stranger after seeing a clear example of defiance without strength=death? The same parents who risk their lives in Bronze rank dungeons 10+ hours a day for the sake of their children? Maybe other parents might stand up for a stranger, but those two were shown to be intelligent and adaptable up til now, thinking only of their children's futures. The only thing more forced than this was if his dad choked to death on a muffin or his mom got struck by lightning on a clear day. There's other ways to make MC's realize the cruelty of the world without dumbing down the entire family during a life-or-death crisis.

What is kind of a plot hole in the story is the fact that the border of the continent and the city's located there is Literally defenceless. Like 10 silvers in border city's. That makes no sense.

bruh the parents death are too forced, them dying just to speed up character development is just dumb. what is the point of them dying to a random silver ranked mob, it would have been at least the gold guy to make it more sensible for a revenged arc.

Wwhy is the MC so stupid? As soon as I saw the invasion happening I would have summoned the golem and just dog a tunnel to escape. Wth would you run out in the open.

Wow. You handled that poorly. Such a forced event. We aren't connected to the parents at all, making their deaths meaningless. All it shows is your lack of vision and planning because, like others have stated, we saw this coming from a mile away. I liked the MC. He isn't proactive enough with his abilities but that's alright. He was still adapting to the changes. However, that isn't an excuse for him to have basically zero awareness to the threats on his life as well as his family's when he literally battled with a silver ranked assassin. You'd think that maybe where he is isn't the safest place to be, or that maybe he isn't even comparable to a baby when combating hegemons and should have taken actions to at least keep his family safe. But no. You made him content with waiting it out. It's your choice if you want your character to be a dimwit, but don't insult our intelligence by dragging it down to yours.

I'll join the obviously right tide and say that if you wanted this to happen, it would have been better for them to perish in an accident during the landing of the enemy forces, this development made no sense given the behaviour of the parents so far.

??? MC's way of fighting was to use his summons. Why in the world would be not sacrifice them as bait. Literally could summon more of them the next day.
