Comments of chapter undefined of Pokemon: Grounded Youth

I mean I would rather see a Royal Pokemon such as Torterra(Grass/Ground) than a Garchomp. Also Dragon Types are really hard/expensive to raise in a realistic setting. Though maybe Izan could have one when he becomes an A-Ranked Trainer(Elite) and is able to financially raise it and has the confidence to train a dragon.

Lets take it all to practically. In reality it's not a turn based game so speed is the most important thing cause why get hit when u can avoid it, which most ground types lack except garchomp. So include it in a final battle or something but do not ignore it, how can u call yourself a ground type master when u don't have the strongest ground type pokemon.

If you wanna stand out you could use hippowdon even though it's a monotype it's still a cool pokemon that doesn't seem to get much love

Really loved the POV from Sandshrew and the relationship with the MC. Author I really have to say compared to your old pokemon fic, this one seems to have a better character interaction and the MC seems to be wary and careful which is enjoyable. I think Starters and Psuedo-Legendaries would disrupt the team balance. Dragons like Garchomp would probably take a long time to get under control or evolve. Maybe something like Flygon since the Pokedex calls it the Desert Spirit. Some interesting choices could be Hippowdon, Camerupt or Steelix Hippowdon isn't really shown in fics plus its has a surprisingly good move pool with the Elemental Fangs as coverage and Slack Off as recovery. Although Kanto might not have the first two and the third would be insanely hard to look after considering its size. Maybe a Whiscash? Looks easy to maintain and can be fished as a Barboach They can apparantly know Dragon Dance if the parent was a Gyarados. A Catfish with a Dragon's temperment would be funny Could also be used as a finisher considering it would probably mess up the field for the rest of the team if it came out first. Pretty annoying that a lot of good Ground types are outside of Kanto maybe the MC decides to move if he has the money to somewhere like Hoenn considering its Desert contains most of the ground types. And has others like Camerupt, Whiscash and Quagsire How are you gonna tackle Abilities and Hidden Abilities? From what I've seen in other fics is that both Abilities and Hidden Abilities are biological features that the Pokemon has to train. So Sandshrew would focus on her evasion abilities in the sand for Sand Veil and try and enhance strength for Sand Force. Training both might take a while but focusing on one and mastering it might help with the other ability. How will you tackle Egg Moves or moves that some pokemon should be able to learn but can't learn? Will you make it so that if it seems justified a pokemon can learn the move? Author if you want some better criticism or ideas than I can give, you could head to the Spacebattles website to get better criticism and to make your fic more known. (Just some ideas, if it conflicts with something you already have in mind please feel free to ignore whatever I said) And as always thank you for the chapter and I hope this story goes on and your will to right never goes away😁

Garchomp would be effective against most typings whilst only being weak to fairy and other dragons. the ground element to help against several other types givint a wide range of skills outside those two groups such as fire, steel, normal along with a few individual skills such as shadow claw and poison jab. Aside from that it's a quasi legendary so from a games perspective it would have higher stats (would imagine that would reflect in the anime/manga somehow) downside is at the moment the cost wouldn't be possible for the mc due to expense, experience of training pokemon in general never mind a dragon type who are known for being harder to train. I wouldn't say the mc should never get one but I would advise it be much later down the line when he's more experienced, has more money and TM's as well as more of a team foundation.

Garchomp is an incredible all rounder due to it's high stats and as one commenter said how can you call yourself a ground type specialist if you won't get one of the best ground types ever.
