It's normal to assume that anyone reading a naruto fanfic has seen the anime or read the manga, but I've done neither lol. I did watch all the cool fights tho

After 500 chapters it is finally the Canon. This is the best naruto fanfic for me no matter what others may say, the author planned out the entire story up till here really well can't wait to see how you go about the Canon events after the butterfly effects that Fujin brought. Good work author san keep it up

I think it depends on the premise of the fanfic itself, some have a very big change in the prologue, while others opt for a more subtle approach, like this one. I think you should maintain a medium to fairly high level of change, not least because many people would find it frustrating to read over 500 chapters only to see a few slight changes.
