These last few chapters have been decidedly... disappointing. The character development has sunk so low it's ridiculous...sorry Author, but I think you're taking a serious step back with the quality of your writing. You are not going to get better, but to get worse. He had taken a liking to Mieko and you also showed it with that chapter of the date. Then you staged the girl's death without Fujin re-entering in any way. What was the use of showing it as its own, when you could have put a rodent (clone) there and had it assist? Would have been better. Instead you let her die meaninglessly after months of character development and your MC really gave a shit. No depression, no guilt, nothing. "Is one of the very few people who cares about me dead? Who cares, I'm only interested in training with useless Jutsu and I'm happy." Fujin no longer has any personality. He lives only for training and is too boring, sad and low quality.
well i cant figure out the character of mc after not even trying anything to save his teammate, so ill try to read the novel after a couple of months
