at this point we can say that mc have cuckold fetish. Its such a great idea to be in passive stance, why the heck not cooperate with principal and enzio? why not break control atleast on friends and tell them about plot brewing(at this point enemy knows that you can do that)? no, lets just wait to enemy do some backstabing, just plain stupid drama milking from idiocy of mc =(((
I agree with the other opinions stated here. It feels like William was suddenly downgraded from the clever and resourceful person he was portrayed as so far....to someone being passive and waiting for the trap to spring. He even went so far as to request the perpetrator to free Wendy. What's the use in that? The only thing he did is futily monitor Carter and do nothing (at least apparently). He even let Wendy just walk around without a bodyguard. He's just asking to be taken adventage of at this point, isn't he?
I know the author pointed out that the MC is not smart, but to get in that situation the author turned the MC into a retard. Seriously, how did he not think Carter wouldn't use them as a hostage? Worse still the guy has to just say kill yourselves and they would kill themselves. How did he not foresee something so obvious?
I dont know why people are complaining about William's choice. He made the right decision, you dont know who is who, who works with Carter, who back him up and so. if he captures Carter or kill him, does it ends? he doesn't know. So the decision he made by only notifying the principal and curing a few people in the martial division was the right thing.
